Man, this may sound self-centered and/or arrogant, but I was reading my semi-private journal and I am really enamored with some of my own writing.

I don't know why I don't write like that in this one. This one seems to be more plain and unadorned. I don't tend to use words for the joy of seeing their beautiful combinations in this journal.

Odd.

I think one is less likely to write emotionally, openly - whether that results in overly purple prose or good, emotionally powerful writing - when one isn't concerned about others reading one's writing.

I know I am ;)
