today's best and worst (or worst and best, for reasons of parallelism)

Worst (joke):

Boy Student: [is washing the chalkboard, with lots of dirty water sluicing off of it]
Girl Student: Hey, that looks like chocolate milk!
Me: Ba-DUM-chhhhhhh!
GS: ...Huh?
Me: I see what you did there.
GS: ??
Me: Chalk-olate milk?
BS: Ahaha.
GS: I... what?
Me: You know. Chocolate milk. Chalkolate milk?
BS: Chalk! Chalk-o-lit!
Me: It's a pretty bad joke.
GS: Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I GET IT!
Me: You're smarter than you think! You made a hilarious joke!
GS: Um.... yeaaaaah.

I just wished that Matthew was there.

Best (series of emails):

1) from my friend Mary Puttmann, oldest of eight (nine?) children living on the West Side of Cincinnati (read: SUPER CATHOLIC, SUPER CONSERVATIVE):
I don't know who's an Obama fan among you and who's not (apologies to the McCain hopefuls) but a friend of mine from DC is helping to organize voter registration/voting in Ohio during a "Golden Week" at the end of the month. - read below for more info. Please pass this on to other Ohioans who might be interseted in supporting Obama and getting him elected.

2) I forward this to my mother.

3) My mother to Mary:
A left-leaning Puttmann is surely a sign of Hope and Change!

My mother to the Obama organizers:
Dear Cristina: Mary Puttmann forwarded your message through my daughter. My 78-year-old mother, my husband and I are a pro-Obama cell in a very right-wing area. (Just had the 3rd Obama sign stolen off our lawn this morning)... (and then she offers housing and transport for any Obama supporters show up.)

Now I'm in the middle of my next best, which is watching 30 Rock with Cameron... avoiding my next worst, which is having to get up tomorrow morning. :(
