Student A: Blah blah, and now she's going to tell YOU KNOW WHO!
Me: ...Voldemort?
Student B: AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA [dies]
I later demonstrated the entire Bluth family's chicken dances for him. I think we bonded. Today we had a conversation about the semantic and logical differences in implication between calling someone "a lesbian" and "an asshole." It was pretty hilarious (one of his friends got busted for writing a note to some girl about how she was a lesbian (she probably isn't) but she didn't get busted for having passed him a note about how he was an asshole earlier, and the boys are convinced that it's "sexist" that he got in trouble and she didn't, although I'm not actually technically sure that she didn't?).
Also today was tiring. There was a speech contest (yay!), in which two students did acceptable jobs, especially considering their lack of preparation, which is partially my fault, but they kept not showing up when I asked them to and I figured maybe they'd learn from being really unprepared; then there was a nuclear meltdown, someone broke the only mic that the school owns (which we were sort of planning on using for the variety show on Friday?), and I am SO TIRED that I am not having much luck making myself walk over there and look at those essays I need to grade. Le sigh.
In other news: February sucks. But it's a short month, and it's nearly over!
