[is not dead, despite long absence from LJ]

I know, I know: you didn't think I could survive this long without a computer!

Well, I have news for you, people: technically I got to use computers at Mitchell's, so really it hasn't been as dire as it first appeared.

But yes. I was going to write a very very long and uninteresting entry about Things and Stuff, but instead, I have decided to share these facts:

1. I still like working at Mitchell's.
2. Events at the School of Education make me feel weird. Why am I the only person in the room who is not blonde? Excepting, of course, the presenters, and the one black girl (who is, in fact, the first person of color I think I've ever seen in the SoE). But I suppose I am somewhat reassured about my resume-writing skillz after the resume "workshop."
3. Apparently I am (still) on the IU GLBT Alumni Association mailing list. This hasn't stopped being funny, although now at least one of those terms applies to me ("Alumni").
4. Although now that I think of it, I'm neither masculine nor plural, so technically none of those terms applies to me. I'm an alumna, bitches!
5. I was thinking about crashing CoT, but at the moment, going to Soma and reading Zorro while waiting for John to call about dinner sounds much more appealing (even if I would lose the opportunity to ambush Cindy).
6. I should probably go ambush Cindy (Cindy being, for those of you who do not know, my CoT advisor, who has failed MISERABLY at being helpful over the last few months). Let's face it: it's what El Zorro would do.
7. Right now I really, relly want a tshirt that says WWZD? and has a picture of Zorro on it. But I suspect that the feeling will pass.

Other than that, I've been working doubles, wearing a tie, and ignoring how much my feet hurt for a few days now, but I'm okay with that. Also, next week is spring break in my school district, which is when I was hoping to go do hurricane recovery, but I think that might not happen. Instead, I will volunteer with Habitat for Humanity (here) and/or IndyReads. Good enough, right? Right.

Maybe I'll just pretend Courtney's down there doing it for me by proxy. Ahaha.

I really am sort of sad about the falling-through of that plan, but I'm sure I'll have plenty of other opportunities to help people out and do good work. So... yeah.
