Police: Man Barricaded In Apartment Found Dead

A police standoff on the east side of Tucson ended in the early morning Friday with the man inside dead.
It started late Thursday afternoon near Pantano Road and Speedway Boulevard. Police went to the complex looking for the man on drug charges. They found him in one of the apartments with two women. He let the women go but barricaded himself inside one of the units.
Residents of the east side apartment complex were evacuated from their homes. Authorities also closed Speedway in both directions near Pantano Road.
Eventually, officers forced their way into the apartment after not hearing from him for several hours. They found him dead inside. An autopsy will be done to determine how he died.
