With all that we keep hearing about "transgenders," I have an honest question (despite the subject line.) How is "transgender" not classified as a mental illness? In all seriousness, it is a delusion...a denial of reality. You are genetically a certain gender, and physically that same gender, but you believe otherwise?
From dictionary.com:
Delusion (noun):
A false belief or opinion
Psychiatry. a fixed false belief that is resistant to reason or confrontation with actual fact
Male (noun):
a person bearing an X and Y chromosome pair in the cell nuclei
Female (noun):
a person bearing two X chromosomes in the cell nuclei
Someone who believes they are a woman despite having both X and Y chromosomes, or who believes they are a man despite having two X chromosomes is expressing a false belief, in direct contrast & resistance to fact.
Fact: If you have both an X and a Y chromosome, YOU ARE A MALE. If you have two X chromosomes, YOU ARE A FEMALE.
To believe otherwise is delusional.
I seriously would like someone to explain FACTUALLY, how this is not accurate.
