So many things to say today!
This morning with the girls, we talked about our identity in Christ, and one of the phrases given us to discuss was "Empowered by God."
I had a coleader today, her name is Ginger, and I think that both she and her Tennessee accent are adorable, and she talked about what empowered means, and it really hit home for me ... hopefully for the girls too.
Empowered means that I have the power of God in me. The power to change the world, the power to drive away Satan, the power to share the gospel. It means that in every conversation I have, God can speak through me; in every interaction I have, God can move through me; in every relationship I have, God can love through me.
Deep.
Just thought I'd share that.
The only other thing then is that Meag got my favorite hymn stuck in my head, and while I'm sure it's already here somewhere, I'm putting up lyrics. :) Deal with it.
When peace like a river attendeth my way
When sorrows like sea billows roll
Whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say
It is well, it is well with my soul.
It is well (it is well)
With my soul (with my soul)
It is well, it is well, with my soul.
Read John 14. Right now. I insist. Chris and I decided, after he helped me actually find the verse that was in my mind in the Bible, that it would be a bit excessive of me to post the entire thing. But read it. It's a good one. Seriously.
Here's a (mildly relevant) excerpt:
"26But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. 27Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."
in His love,
~Lisa
