Yesterday was the most awesome Marching Band rehersal I've had since Freshman year...God, it was amazing. It started out with the battery lugging our drums outside, where we marched for a good 2.5 hours...personally, I thought we did really good, and Mike thought so too. So the morning rehersal was great, I had forgotten what it feels like to march with the tenors on. When that familiar burn in my calves came back, it felt so good...despite the fact I got a cramp. Oh well.

People make fun of band kids because we're doing something beautiful. They don't understand that we're more intelligent, physically conditioned, and dedicated than they will ever be. I, for one, am glad as hell I joined Marching Band. This year is the year that we shine. This year, we're going to be the ones who everyone, even Corona or Gilbert, looks on and says, "Damn, they're pretty good."

Some people would say that's wishful thinking, but it sure as hell isn't. I believe we'll be able to pull of a Superior with Distinction this year. We'll prove to everyone who quit that they've missed out on something they'll never experience again, unless they come back. But this is my third year coming up...how could I quit?

And if it applies to you, I won't give up on you. I love you.
