Finally some time to say something intelligent.

I learned after 3 weeks of struggling to even stay online, and taking 15 minutes to get a page loaded, and then getting kicked offline before I got to read it, that it wasn't my modem after all that was the problem. My computer kept connecting slower and slower till it refused to connect at all. At the same time, my phone had started to do weird stuff. First the caller ID only worked half the time. Then my special rings quit working. So I couldn't tell if somebody was calling that I didn't want to talk to, so I had to answer every call. Then a week ago, the same time that my computer quit connecting, the girls started calling me on my cellphone, and said that all they got on my regular phone was a busy signal, so they thought either I was online, or talking an awful lot. So it seemed to me that the problem with both my phone and my computer was the phone line *light bulb flashes over my head*. So I called the phone company and the lady told me that their equipment was fine and it was mine that was messed up. If that was the case, why wouldn't my computer connect, when it was the only thing plugged into the jack. And why didn't people just get a ring instead of a busy signal. All I got on my end was dead silence, no dial tone. So I tried everything I possibly come up with to try to get them both to work. Still not dialtone, no internet, no ring, and a busy signal at the other end. I called the phone company a second time, and this time it was a guy, and he told me it actually showed that it was my equipment. So I thought maybe it was the battery, but the lights still came on both on the base and on the phone itself. Besides, phone batteries are so expensive, I figured I might as well buy a cheap new phone, and return it if that didn't fix it. So I spent 20 bucks for a new phone, brought it home, and it did the same thing. So I thought maybe it just needed to get charged for the full 16 hours. Leah called me on my cell phone the next morning, and the first thing I said was, "You mean it's still not working?" She said she didn't know, she hadn't even tried my other phone. So she called it and it was still a busy signal on her end and no dial tone or ring on my end. By now I was REALLY getting po'd, so I found someone in the apts. who had a dial phone, and plugged both my old phone and my new one in. Both of them got a dial tone. So I KNEW it wasn't my fault. I called the phone company again for the third time, and told the guy that I thought it might be the jack itself, which is their equipment. He instisted that it wasn't them, and I told him how i got a dialtone in other people's jacks. He said that it showed that I had my phone off the hook. I said how could it be unhooked if it wasn't even plugged in?! He kept asking me if my computer was plugged in, if I had a fax machine, and everything he could think of to not admit it was their equipment. I said, "I'm looking at the jack right now, and the only thing I'm seeing is that wall plate and a hole in the middle of it." So he finally agreed to have someone come out to look at the jack. The first time wouldn't be till Sunday afternoon. I told him I probably wouldn't be home till about one, so he said anytime after 2. Ok, fine. My house was a mess so I stayed home from church to try and clean it before he got there. I was still in my pajamas Sunday morning when I heard this banging on the door. I didn't answer it cuz I wasn't dressed yet. Then he banged again, and walked away. A second later my cell phone rang, and he said my phone was fixed. I said, "I thought you weren't supposed to come until this afternoon and you had to come in to look at the jack. He asked if this was blah, blah (my address) and I said yeah, and he said the apts. on the corner of blah and blah, and I said yeah. He seemed confused and said, "Well, that's the apt. I fixed." So I plugged my OLD phone in first and it worked fine. So if the stupid phone company had checked the first time, I wouldn't have had to go through all that crap, and go for a week w/o a phone, using up all my cell phone minutes and not being able to go online for 3 weeks. I took the new phone back to Walmart and got my 20 bucks back. When I checked my mail, I had 283. (So why did I go into all that boring detail to explain why I was gone?)

I'm guessing pretty much everyone gave up on me. I hope nobody defriended me bacause of it.

I've also been sick for the last few months. I kept getting more and more tired until I couldn't even cross the room, and the fatigue was so bad it hurt. I couldn't get comfortable sitting, standing, lying down. It was horrible. I got other symptoms that made me realize, hey this feels an awful lot like Mono. I put up with it for another month and a half or so till it got so bad, I couldn't even do the simplest thing around the house, and everytime I sat down I fell asleep, even when I was driving my mother's car...I'd catch myself drifting into the opposite lane, or onto the sidewalk. That was too much. So when AHCCCS finally assigned me a new doctor, since the other one dropped Phoenix Health Plan, I didn't waste any time. It was this weird place where you can just walk in w/o an appt. But I asked for one anyway, since PHP actually did assign me to a specific doctor there. Course when I got there for my appt. they sent me to someone else. I told her what I thought it was, and she didn't believe it was mono. She gave me a prescription for an infection I had in my gum, and just as an afterthought when she walked out, she ASKED if I wanted blood tests just to be sure. So I had them before I left, and she told me to come back in a week. When I came back the next week, she said, "Well, you know you were right, you do have mono." Hellooo. I know what's going on with my own body. She said there's no way to treat it, except for rest, and no heavy activity at all, which is true, as it could cause your spleen to rupture. She told me to come back in a month for more blood tests. I did and then I came back another week after that, and I expected her to say that things were looking better, even thought I'm still falling asleep constantly, when I've slept for 13 hours the night before. She said I was actually worse. My numbers were up pretty seriously, and my white blood cell count had jumped. She said I might have Chronic Epstein-Barre Syndrome, which is more serious that mono, and could lead to much more serious possibilities (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, anemia, lymphomas, and rarely, certain leukemias, hepatitis, and kidney damage). Great. She said if it didn't look better in a month, she's going to have to send me to a specialist. I don't care. Just so I can stop being so tired.
