Why We Have Molars

Mar 08, 2006 01:12

I realised today that I COULD become vegetarian. I don't want to, but having widened my diet over the past few months, I just ate a meal that had no meat in it at all!!! Of course, I LOVE meat, and so would never do that on a regular basis, but I'm quite plleased with myself for being healthy :)

Last weekend I zoomed on down to Cambridge to see my lil friend Josepihne. Good times were had, although not a lot of food was eaten, too much alcohol was drunk, and many inuendoes told to her friends. Still they are all a nice bunch, and will def go see them again. Jo says she's coming up in April so I guess I can't have been too abusive hehehe.

Got Kinga coming to visit this weekend, always nice to see her. Playing poker with the boys on saturday, and then gonna go to Wagamammas I think. Should be excellent (assuming I win).

This week at work is our first propper week on the phones, and I've had an awful time so far, really ratty customers on almost every call. Nobody wanting to buy anything at all either. Finally got my first sale today, sold dual fuel electricity and gas to a man in Birmingham. Didn't get no £5 vouchers like I'm supposed to tho. Damn cheap bastards. I'll chase that up tomorrow. Already don't like out manager, aside from the fact he's only 5 feet tall, and looke about 12, he seems to have a hugely overinflated opinion of himself, never speaks to any of us, and never helps us out even when he's stood right by us. Then he has the cheek to tell me that even tho I stayed till 8:15 last night, I wont get overtime for the extra work, or even be let go early to make up for it. So I told him I wanted to speak to his manager about it, why should I work extra hours for no reward? I said in future at 8pm I'll just tell the customer I'm dealing with "Sorry, it's 8pm now, and I don't get paid to stay after that, so I'm not prepared to deal with your problem any more. Please call back tyomorrow when we are open. Fucing retard.

Anyway, the company's ideas about dealing with its staff are good, it just needs the managers to have a better understanding of the priniples. The ways of dealing with customers are less good, and quite a few of us are a little miffed at the "Lie to them, just get rid of them" attitude. I wanna be a manager so I can change all that. I want to give excellent customer service, because that is what we are there for. I don't want to get through as many calls as quickly as possible giving the lowest level of service possible - I want to get it right 100% of the time. That's the one good thing I picked up from Scottish Power; their use of the 6 sigma methodology. (All process improvement speak, don't worry if you don't understand).

Now it's 1am, and I have 8 hours till I need to wake up... maybe I should sleep... I need trainers tomorrow... god mine leak so badly.
