ho hum
so i'm on "vacation" meaning i don't go back to work until sunday afternoon. i got my december schedule and it looks good. i'm off every friday. sweet. i finally deposited last weeks paycheck today. i dunno what the fuck happened to direct deposit..idiots.
yesterday was my first day of my 5 day vacation. i went shopping. i've spent too much money the past few days. i need to save my money for next year's traveling. i'm going to jamaica for 2 weeks in march with patricia. we'll be there easter weekend through my birthday. it should be interesting. we had a "meeting" last night to discuss our finds and things to check out, places to stay etc. we've found a lot of cool shit so i'm looking forward to this. it's definitely going to be different from other trips. i also have to get the plane tickets first..ideally we'll have our tickets booked by next week. i need to start working out so i can fit into those batty riders (you feel me P?). after jamaica i think my next trip will be the summer. i wanna see my cousin again so july looks like it's all about italy. i also wanna go to rototom sunsplash in northern italy. 10 days of reggae + hot european boys with dreadlocks = heaven on earth. that's also in july and the ticket is quite hefty, but it's for 10 days and some of the most amazing reggae artists will be there. i'll also have to buy a tent since i'll have to camp there. it's kinda like burning man for reggae, minus the burning of the man, and probably hotter people haha. i also have to hit up germany because i want to go to berlin and i also want to find tori,wherever she will be and see her. that's all gonna cost a chunk of money considering the dollar is worthless in any country that uses the euro. therefore, i don't foresee myself moving out until after summer. lame.
in other news, my camera is dead. RIP canon elph. i'm in the market for a new camera. i saw an olympus on costco.com but it's $600. it comes with an extra lens and battery and case but it's gonna be heavy. it looks cool as fuck though and the brat in me really wants it but it would be a pain to drag around with me on my travels. i'm considering the camera my brother has which is a canon s3. it's pretty cheap, works well and might be more practical for me. there's an s5 but the s3 is rated better than the newer model. hmm. hopefully, i can pull some strings and get one for xmas. =D
i've been realizing that i lack stimulation in my life. i'm bored. i need something to do. i think i'm going through some sort of withdrawal because i'm not in school. i'm a person that always needs to be learning something. i'm looking into morning classes at GCC because i feel like i'm wasting my brain. my work is certainly not challenging so i'm gonna have to take some history or politics classes, something, to get me going. i think i might take a library science class in the winter. i'm trying to find out what i want to do with my life. all that education and i still don't know..oh well. teaching is a great idea, if you could actually teach. however, teaching in public schools has become so mechanized that it's a complete turn off. it's kinda sad that i wanna teach, but in reality, you're not teaching but just reading from a list of standards. super lame.
tomorrow, is thanksgiving. whoopee. i'm not a fan of holidays and thanksgiving is one of the ones that ranks low on my interest list. at least there will be wine and/or champagne. i'm already sick of christmas and it's not even december yet. i hate the idea of shopping. i've decided to do all my christmas shopping in one store. we'll see how that works out.
