Would You Want To Know?

There is a song by the group Nickelback called "Savin' Me". The video that goes with it is a real eye-opener. If you haven't heard the song or seen the video, you can do so here: http://www.nickelback.com/ (click on the Eyes and Ears tab, select List for a list of videos and click on "Savin Me" to watch it).

The basic premise of the video is that a young man is saved from being hit by a bus. After this happens, he sees numbers above people's heads as he walks around the city. The numbers are a countdown of the time they have left on this earth. It's an amazing video, and it made me stop and think.

The question today is this: Would you want to have the ability to see how much time your friends and family have left? Why or why not?

My answer? I'd rather not know. Some may argue that if we know how much time our loved ones had left, we would appreciate our time with them that much more. Shouldn't we be living each day like there is no tomorrow anyway? Appreciating each moment we have with them already?

Knowing me, I'd probably be a basket case as the day approached, making their last days more stressful than they need to be.

That's my two cents...what's yours?
