Currently, the Apple website has a picture of Rosa Parks riding a bus on its homepage. In the bottom left corner of the photograph, it says "Rosa Parks, 1913-2005." In the top left corner, there is the Apple logo, followed by the slogan, "Think Different." Fuck you, Apple. Buying a non-windows computer is not an obstinant act anywhere near a similar magnitude. I would be respect their obituary if it didn't have their logo or slogan stamped on it, but that is not the case. Apple, go and eat shit.
I've got a second job now. The first is interning for the Ann Arbor Film Fest, and that remains chill and awesome, if not far away. The second is broomball officiating, and tonight was my 'training clinic.' Bottom line: playing hockey/broomball is fucking awesome, officiating hockey/broomball is fucking cold. But hey, I get to keep the whistle.
That hurricane a few days ago had some interesting ramifications for my family. My parents and brother were scheduled to fly down to Delray Beach (in the path of the storm) to visit my grandparents last Thursday, and come back yesterday (Monday). The day before their flight out, my father's uncle/grandfathers brother died of cancer in Montreal. Instead of flying to Florida, my family drove to Montreal, while my granparents flew there from Florida. Hurricane Wilma reached Florida late Sunday, and cancelled all flights in and out. While my family was able to drive home, my grandparents remain in Montreal. Their condo still does not have power.
Basically, because of the death in Montreal, my family and grandparents avoided a hurricane. That's some fucked up luck.
Please, don't worry about condolences over the death of my grand-uncle. I pretty much only saw him at weddings and bar mitzvahs; we were not very close.
But still, thats some fucked up luck.
