I'd rather be in a car than trying to walk somewhere while people like me are on the road, though. There were little bastard schoolchildren on every other corner waiting for the school bus when I was working my way home. :))

:D :D my naked wall is ready to receive it! B-)

considering there is never any parking around here, i am pretty sure that walking is actually faster :p

i put it in a bubble-wrap envelope, too, so it will arrive shiny and new!

Everything is so spread out here that it would take hours to actually get someplace and back. >.> On the flip side, it's all new, which means a nice sea of pavement to hold many cars.

:D :D :D man ok so describe the Draco page to be again 8->

ahhh, suburbia at its finest!

well, draco doesn't have a page solely devoted to him, but on one page, there is a pic of draco and a pic of harry next to it in which harry looks over into draco's direction, clearly pining, if you ask me!

I got the calendar a few days ago! :D I don't know why October is always Ron month >.> but the month before is the H/D one, so I may just . . . leave it on September for two months so I have a nice view for my birthday. >:D

What is this business with bailing and moving to the UK or NZ??

yay, it arrived! good plan. i think july is something boring, too.

it's a matter of going where a job is :P. although i need to scope out the nz job in some more detail and see if it's actually a good fit.

They're pretty and arranged to be interesting, even when the subject matter happens to be fug Weasleys or old gay headmasters! :))

Are there seriously NO leads here? I know the economy is killing job opportunities, but little bastard kids always need to be educated, which requires someone to teach them. >.>

pretty much. although there is one month that has a big pic of slughorn's club and then around are random students i don't recognize.

there are leads here, too, but we are moving towards the end of the job season so i have to apply to everything i find. there's also more competition for fewer jobs and schools can cherrypick their candidates.

No one ever said you can't doodle stick figure pr0n on post-it notes to cover the little squares w/ random Slug Club brats. >:D :-"

://////// Butttt it's only January! How is this the end of the season when jobs won't even start until like . . . the end of the summer? Stupid hiring pplz >.>

hahah, true!

because the academic interviewing process is so long-winded and so many people are involved in the decision-making process. between now and the late spring schools will advertise one-year positions as well, but they are obviously not as desirable as a more longterm job. but i'll take whatever i can get!

Indeed, anything that looks halfway decent (and more importantly has a good paycheck!) is fair game, even if it's only a year . . . because if they like you, it could become a long term or permanent spot. :D Since this would be your first time being a real official teacher, is that making you look less appealing to potential takers? Experience versus malleability is a tough call. :-?

well, those one-year positions are usually replacements for someone on leave so they don't really turn into something permanent. but they're a decent jumping-off board.

yeah, experience is one part, and sometimes it's things i have no influence over, like they don't really want someone who mostly studies tv etc. the whole process feels like pinning the tail on the donkey :p
