Sanctuary - 316 - Awakening - Review

Here's my review of the most recent Sanctuary Episode... Safe to say that it's a pretty positive one!

I've been waiting for this episode for a very very long time.. and it certainly the best episode of the second half of the season.. possibly of this season!

I've always had a soft spot for Tesla, and no doubt it's because Jonathan Young portrays it so wonderfully.  It's just the the small little gestures (ie like the way he said "Hi" and the the pinky and the brain type "Excellent" and the "teeth acting" :p just to name a few

I think there was a lot of hype surrounding this episode, especially among the Tesla fans, and I definitely it surpassed it.  His "death scene" was brilliant.. dignity and snark to the very end.

The fact that Nikola's revamping was pretty much advertised in the promos in the episode promo and even the second season promos, I liked the fact that Helen was so eager to save Nikola's life that she willing revamps him.  Plus the bracelets were back.. and Nikola made a second one too!

The the second part of the episode... once he became Sanguine Vampiris... the little fanboying around a little fun, and I thought wonderful acting by Jonathon for the very slight but still very noticeable change in Nikola's demeanor changed to his usual more confident self once he shook his fanboying of Afina.

I always love stories surrounding The Five and particularly Helen/Nikola interactions!

The Subplot for this episode was pretty good too.  I've always felt indifferent to Kate, but always thought there was a good premises to her character.  It was nice to see her character grow in such a positive way.

I can't wait for the next episode.

I love Amanda Tapping but I think it's because of Jonathon Young and his portrayal of Nikola the reason why Sanctuary has become one of my favourite "can't wait each week" shows.
