On Friday, for the first time in the holiday season, my mom, my dad, and I were all on vacation at the same time.
Sooo...we decided to go out and have some Christmas-style-family-fun. This generally entails some sort of trip to a place where we usually don't have the time to go. We decided, hey.....how about we go to MediaPlay!.....So, we drove and drove and when we finally arrived at the promised .....parking lot, we were shocked and appalled to discover a total lack of MediaPlay.....
Slightly disgruntled and unsure what to do next, my family drove on...
My father suggested that we go to the only other MediaPlay location we were aware of, which was about 45 minutes away from where we already were.
So, off we went.....and we arrived only to discover that that MediaPlay was also absent....
Now, totally undecided as to what we'd do next........we drove on......
We continued to drive when something unusual caught my eye,
I saw a large red sign that read "WU MART"....obviously, this sign was on the front of a building and under the sign, was a store. Now.......if you know me, and you probably do, the concept of a store called "WU MART" is simply irresistable.....all too amusing and curiosity provoking to pass up.
So, I announced to the rest of the car, in all my surprize and astonishment......O_o " WU MART! What the HELL....?"
To which my mother replied, ".......huh?"
I said, "..There's a store called WU MART!!!!"..xDXDXDXD
...and only several moments later, there we were, standing in front of this place....waiting to discover all the mystery that lay behind the doors of Wu Mart...
What we found inside was a culmination of some of the strangest, cheapest, most pointless goods known to mankind. It was as though all the chain discount stores in America vomitted, and Wu Mart was born.
Wu Mart is much like the Matrix in that it cannot, so much, be described properly in simple words.... So, I shall not waste my time attempting to explain it.
Besides, I'm not here to tell you all about Wu Mart, I'm here to tell you about the fragment of Christmas joy that I found there...
My family and I wandered about, looking at the impractical tools, the abundance of knock-off Anime, the children's socks, and the wall clock that featured an image of "The Last Supper"...a good time was being had by all...
...I strolled toward the first isle.....and then, sitting adjacent to the shevles...I saw, what was quite possibly, the last thing I'd EVER expected to find in oh-ye-strange-olde-Wu-Mart.....
What first got my attention was fhe glint of golden lettering..........plastic, molded into /cursive/ golden lettering... which formed the words, "Merry Christmas"
It was inside a package of random-cheap-Christmas-Decorations...which included but was not limited to a few tiny presents, a little bit of cotton fiber (obviously meant to be snow)..and a rather pathetic looking Santa Claus ornament with a club-foot..
(I assume the club foot was unintentional)
HOWEVER, the shining and amazing golden plastic "Merry Christmas" shone out over them all.
I gasped......and stood in awe. Could that be possible???? O___O OMFG!! I /had/ to have it.
I snagged the little package from the cardboard display where it sat amongst other packages of an identical nature. We purchased it and brought it home.....where I used that little plastic sign to decorarte my mini-christmas tree that I keep in my room....
(Btw....on the far right of the decorated stuff. your eyes do not fool you...that IS a Christmassy guillotine...)
Now, you may be wondering to yourself......why in the name of all that is holy would I get soooo excited about some cheap-ass-poor-quality-Christmas decorations at Wu Mart....especially a stupid little plastic sign that says "Merry Christmas"..?
WELL.......That little plastic sign holds special meaning to me. My life, as you probably know, is one big reference, so I have files and files of stored mental images of things from..well, everywhere important, and I immediately recognized that little plastic sign ....
^^..and it was a bit of surprizingly accurate Christmas joy.....
