Randomness, Part 2
Ok, it has been awhile. I tried posting yesturday and got some stupid number and letter and realized it didn't post. Here goes my second try.....
I've been off work since Feb 18th. I got a staph (?) infection in my middle finger on my right hand. They took out all the meat at my middle knuckle, and I have been on antibiotics ever since. I take that back, I have to give myself an IV 3 times a day. Yeah, it sucks. I spent a week in the hospital, and cannot go back to work till at least March 25th, or so my note says. With this time off, I've had the time to finish my menu for my cafe/bakery, try some new recipes, and work on my small business plan. With any luck, I won't have to go back to MGM, I will be able to open my own place. I have my eye on three places - one on Grand River, one on 7 Mile, and a small place at 5 and Beech Daly. I found out that Wildflours is under new ownership, THANK GOD!!!!! Matt couldn't handle the bakery and working full time as a teacher in culinary arts that he had no clue about. Then he hires a baker who was a fucking slob. He didn't like her, but he didn't give me the chance to prove my baking abilities. He just called me and said not to come to work the next day. Yeah, I am bitter. I could've done ALOT for that bakery if given the opportunity. But, I lived and learned, it made me a stronger and smarter person. That, my friends, is why I want to open my own place. And I'm getting close!!!!!
My brother and his wife and kids came home to Michigan for a week at the end of Feb. Kimberly is just a doll - always smiling. Being with her makes me want to have another child. BUT, that is a huge step for us. I'm going to be at the age (35) that is high risk for birth defects, and on top of all that, I am a diabetic. Odds are not in my favor.
We've had Caroline to the ENT specialist 2 times in the last month. She needs tubes in her ears, and we have that surgery scheduled for April 1st. This will help with her speech and hearing in class. We still have to look into tutoring, though, no question about it. I don't want to hold her back a year.............Time to finish my business plans!!!
