Damn, It’s Been SOOOOOOOO Long!!!!
Looking through my last posts, it's been WAY too long since I last posted. I've been working at the new MGM Grand since the end of August, and I just don't have the time to keep up anymore. So here is an update.........
~I've missed the last 2 Psy events cause we were both working, and didn't have anyone to watch the kids. The Gathering (working) and Hallowicked (Halloween with the kids and their friends, worked all day.........), so now I've set my sites on Big Ballas if they have it. My parents are coming home this weekend (that's been a big part of the problem of having noone to watch the kids) so they will more then likely do it. But we'll see.........
~Work is going OK, I guess. New restaurant, new people working together. I'm working on the Prep crew in the mornings, doing stuff for both Bourbon Steak and SaltWater. I'm starting to get bored though - same stuff, different day. Which reminds me, the restaurant that I had my eye on is up for sale or lease. I have my menu - I went with a breakfest and brunch menu - so if you know anyone who wants to loan (or invest) in my restaurant......
~Ok, how come the school system is shoving math, science and spelling down our kids throats? My daughter Caroline is in first grade this year. JUST OUT OF KINDERGARTEN! They are counting change, reading like 2nd grade books (which they say they are supposed to be able to read - one of the reasons Caroline is in the reading recovery program), and measuring the lengths of different items. I know my daughter is a young 5 (she started Kindergarten in September, while most of her friends were already 6, went to daycare, and had moms that don't do anything so they sit home and work with their kids), but we work with her. Only 2 months into the school year, and they are telling me that she needs to repeat the first grade. HELL NO! Not gonna happen. Updates to follow........
~Elizabeth is doing good, still kinda struggaling with math a little. She is working alot with Caroline on her homework. Good sisterly bonding! With Rob and I working so much, Liza has kinda helped her with all the homework Lina has been getting while I have been making dinner, cleaning house, etc.....And her first front tooth came out a few days ago. She is going to be singing the song :"All I want for Christmas is my 2 front teeth"....
That's all I can come up with at the moment - other then my Lions being 6-2!!!!! I catch the game when I can, either on the radio or bits and pieces on TV.....but I am SO happy they are doing this good. Maybe the prayer sessions have paid off.............(the team does it).
