So...I keep mentioning hat I will post photos of things. Many of these promises go way back, so many photos will be somewhat old. Including ones in this point. There is no cut because I demand that my amazing culinary masterpieces dominate your Friends Page.
In this post, you will behold many of the desserts I have baked, going all the way back to last March!
Some of you may remember the
rubber duckie cake and
Ron Weasley cakes I made for my friend and sister respectively last year. I've been expanding a little since then. You may notice me sticking with similar themes in the future.
First up!
My first batch of themed cupcakes! These were for P, based off a bunch of his favourite video games. Clockwise from the top: Portal portals - Pokeball - Trifoce - Kirby - Yoshi egg - A LIE - Goomba - Koopa Shell - Shephard's N7 suit logo from Mass Effect - Mario hat - Luigi hat! Lots of fun to make.
Made for a friend I don't talk much with these days, a Transformers Decepticon cake! I'm not all that happy with this one, and a big problem was that I couldn't get decent, dark colours. I still need to fix this. :S
A guitar, guitar pic, and clapperboard for T! I had the idea for the guitar, which is based off his own guitar, for ages, as it was cool to do this, though kind of hard because I may not have chilled the cake. :S This was my first time trying to do piping, and it turned out decently. The clapperboard was a last-minute addition because I realized I had extra cake. XD
These are just some cute "sleepover" cupcakes I made with my aunt and little cousin! We got them from the cupcake book they got my for my birthday, which I absolutely LOVE. The blond one in the red blanket looks kind of like me. XD
Halloween cupcakes for two separate Halloween parties! The owls and bats were both ideas from the previously-mentioned cupcake book, and I may have picked up the spider webs online. This involved a lot of cutting up Oreos, and searching for spider-shaped gummies. Lots of fun. :D
These My Little Pony Cupcakes made the second Halloween party 20% cooler! It was a Halloween/birthday party for my friend who is apparently a brony now, so this felt appropriate. Each cupcake was actually coloured, too: Twilight Sparkle and Rarity were purple, Flutterfly was yellow, Pinkie Pie was PINK, Applejack was orange, and Rainbow Dash was
RAINBIW. Yes, I know all their names, now.
Next up, we celebrated four birthdays at once, so I made a big ol Hylian shield, and individual Heart Container and Pokeball cupcakes for the birthday boys/girls! I also threw in a 1-Up mushroom because I had the extra cake and mouths to feed.
Next,
Shape dat tail feather! Once again, loverboy came to help and act as a guideline. :>
Then dirty icing! If you don;t know what this is now, you're a silly goose. (No, it is not a goose.)
Yay, we've got another beautiful rubber duckie! But it's not done yet!
Oh noooooes, what happened?!
IT'S A PIRATE DUCK. WITH FIRE. Naturally, this was for the same friend I made my first rubber duck cake for, but she also likes pirates and pirate duckies, so this seemed like the next logical step. XD Her girlfriend made the bandanna from a home-made fruit rollup-type recipe!
Cake pops! This is cake batter and icing rolled up into balls, then coated in white chocolate. I made these again, with my aunt and cousin, and this was our first foray into cake popping, so excuse how scary they are. And yes, they taste as insane as they look.
I was Production Assistant on a student shoot! My tasks included acting as taxi service and making enough cupcakes to feed an entire crew. T, his mom and I, made it into a day. We were a fuckin factory, and we rocked that shit.
HARRY POTTER TIME, FOOLS
SISTER'S BIRTHDAY AGAIN. HARRY POTTER JUNK FOOD TIME AGAIN.
These are chocolate cauldrons and licorice wands! They were awesome! My sister freaked out, she loved them so much! The cauldrons were really time-intensive, too - I had to turn them upside-down, cut out the cores, dip them in chocolate, add likkle chocolate chip feet, make handles OUT OF CHOCOLATE, and make a marshmallow filling. You don't even know. Also, you could lift them by their handles.
I rocked my sister's world. And this was only part one.
Stay tuned for part two, which includes more Harry Potter goodness, and Pokemon and Mass Effect. BALLA.
Also,
The cupcake book I was going on about before! Seriously you guys, this thing is full of SUCH cute ideas!
Guys, I cannot even.
I...actually just bought this the other week, but it was using a gift card I got on my birthday! This carrying case has alternate bases you can use to transport either 12 cupcakes, 24 mini cupcakes, or one bigass cake! It's a bit more limiting than I'd like, but I'm excited to use it!
I also got these adorable animals molds! The lions and hippos are from my awesome aunt, and the lone giraffe is from T, who saw it and had to get it for me due to an inside joke. I need to find excuses to use these - maybe I can make the lions into Luxray and the hippos into Hippowdon?
And yes, my birthday is in a couple weeks. I'm not yet sure how I'm celebrating, but I will be having a unrelated Pokemon party with other people the week before. So this should be a good year! I want a lot of baking-related items from ThinkGeek.com this year.
Here's my Wishlist.
Also, I am waiting for my last mark EDIT: GOT IT! I should be graduating with a BA in English Literature and minor in Professional Writing/Editing. I'm the only one of my friends to be doing so this year, too. :P Go me.
