A Party and a Hat (but not a party-hat or a hat party)

Nov 23, 2008 14:13

Jana's party was okay, but now as fun as we would have hoped.

I think the laser tag thing is what mainly screwed it over, because nobody bothered to make a reservatiion for the right time - we had hoped to get in a game first at around 2, THEN head to her place. But it was, of course, left up to me (because I have the coupons?), so that morning I made Geordie do it when I picked him up. "I can't make calls and drive" is a great excuse for a person who dislikes making phone calls. Earliest game was at 6, so we reserved it and decided to head to Jana's first.

Well, things got fucked up, Jana was mad at her friend Misa because we couldn't tell her not to go to laser tag, she she didn't think to come to Jana's when we weren't there. Jana shoudln't have been pissed at her for that. She wanted to have a small party, so it was just Sam, Eric, Geordie and me, Nick from her last party and her boyfriend André, and the other two girls couldn't make it. Yeeeaaaah, her first party was better in that respect - I think it would have been better with more people.

André arrived earlier than expected, which was useless and only ended up ruining our laser tag plans. Then because nobody actually called the place to cancel, they called us asking if we were coming or not, and Jana got all mad at them because they were apparently rude. We TOLD her she should have called to cancel, but apparently that isn't her responsibility (despite it being her party), and she made it sound like WE should be the angry ones. Because we didn't inform the laser tag people of what's going on. Great. Anyhow, now I need to find another time for laser tag, since my coupons expire soon. D:

I would have preferred to leave at that point, because we all knew that we weren't staying all night because Jana wanted some birthday smex, but we ended up watching Godzilla, which I had no interest in. Accomandiered her laptop and surfed around FaceBook for like, the first time in my life, because I was THAT bored. Was dissapointed that I couldn't find pictures of Mikey's Captain Hammer costume from Halloween, though. ><

In the middle of the movie, Jana randomly said that as soon as it was over we had to leave. a) Yes, Jana, we knew that already, and b) jeez, you make us feel so welcome. If she was so eager to get us out of the house, she shouldn't have put on a movie. Telling your guests that is hardly being a good hostess, either.

Her parents had gone out to dinner, and when they got back and told her what restaurant they went to Jana started whining, demanding to know why they hadn't taken her with. Again, not exactly appropriate, and doesn't make your guests feel like they're any sort of first priority.

It wasn't all bad, though. It was still nice hanging out, rotating playing some Wii and having fun with her gigantic plushies (I want her giant Cyndaquil! and D: she shouldn't have given away her giant Celebi). That girl has such awesome stuff (soooo much video-game stuff, from plushies and posters to mushroom slippers).

Then there was yummy fruit juice I need to get my mom to buy, a home-made pizza (cold, gave me an upset stomach later, but meh), and a delicious spicecake which we happily omed and nomed. XD Her mom stuck a picture of her as a baby on it with the candles, and we laughed. Then I "stole" a white candle, at first to eat off the cake, then I ended up playing with it the rest of the night. That, my dears, is what psycologists call an oral fixation. ^^

It was fucking COOOOOLD as we headed home, and by the time we were out of the subway it was around 10, which is early for us. We considered hanging around Second Cup, but I didn't really feel like it, and when I have the car, I make the rules. XD

Aaaaaand right now I SHOULD be working on my essays and stuff (multiple of which are already late) as well as a camp staff application. But blogging is so much more fun. ;;

So my grandfather has this fisherman's hat that he got when he went to Greece. I accomandiered it some time ago because I like it so much. It's totally authentic and everything, and very cute and black, though really big, so it likes to slip down over my eyes. I really want to put a red R on it (only a temporary one, anyway - I don't want to ruin it) so I have an excuse to steal things.

I really love passing it around and seeing how it looks on different people. It's actually pretty cool, because it looks different on everyone. Some people actually look amazing in it, it's a great accessory for many, and it makes some boys look insanely Jewish, like they come from the old country fifty years ago. XD

So I've decided that I'm going to start taking pictures of all my friends (using the term fairly lightly) wearing this hat. I started on Friday and only got 8 people, and I still want to redo Alex B and possibly Cameron. Unfortunately, while I wanted to get pictures of people from some of my classes and even got them to wear the thing, I felt too weird taking pictures in class. Another worry of mine is that if I don't take pictures of everyone, other people might feel left out, and I don't exactly have time to take pictures of every single person around me.

Well, I shall try. I want to make some sort of collage at the end of it, and get a good picture of me wearing it (I know the basic pose I want, too :3), possibly putting it in the middle or something. Meh, right now, the plan is just to bring it to school and get lots and lots of pictures. Possibly try a mad attempt to meet Alex (Whitey), just to get him wearing it, too, just because he's awesome and I need an excuse to see him more than once a year. Shame I can't get any of the online buds wearing it. Wonder if I can get any of my teachers to wear it, though...

Tuesday will probably be amusing, since I'm going to have to take all the pictures at an upwards angle, since I'll be in mah wheelchair (as long as all goes according to plan, unlike last time). That could be interesting. :3 NOSTRIL SHOTS. I can see your braaaaiiin from down here. Totally. And I knew I should have worn the hat to Jana's party!

Recently I dreamed that I was going to see a play with some friends, and we were taking the subway. He was there, ignoring me the entire time, even when I tried poking him. There were also these Pokémon gijinka cosplayers doing a photoshoot in the tunnel, and I really wished I had known about it so I could have brought my own cosplay.

Okay, I should go do some work, now. Like, seriously. XD I just can't do the Popular Aesthetics essay because I'm too lazy to watch a movie (lol, bet you don't hear that every day). I think I may do Rent, though. I got the DVD for my birthday some years ago, but since we had rented it before that (haha, rent), I had never really watched our copy.

The CD's another story, though. XD Especially since I randomly got back into it the other day and I can't stop listening to it. <333

*coughs* You know, I think I'm going to go watch Rent now. Might as well - I'm sure it has some scenes I could use for the essay, and if not, I'll just bullshit. ^^;

EDIT: lmao, the DVD was literally still sealed. XD And wouldn't you know, I cried at the end, again, as usual. Fuck, I love that movie so much. ;; And I got Sam obsessed, of course, too. And lol, I still have the candle from Jana's birthday.

EDITEDIT: I'll be your foxy Angel, Collins. XD Damnit, you know you're obsessed when. Why would I expect anyone to remember the "zoom in on my empty wallet" line, anyway?

But seriously, I'll wear the Santa jacket and spin around on a table and everything!

...hopefully I'll get to watch Blues Brothers and The Producers soon. >3333333 *so happy*
