KICK ASS.

Nov 03, 2008 17:50

That was one great Halloween. :DDD

Friday morning I still didn't have a helmet for Captain Falcon/Fabulous/Falconette, so I grabbed my grey ski helmet and that was that. I had wanted to bring some Tide to Go to school since I'd be wearing all fucking white, but I forgot. XD Put my camera in my pants pocket and, looking like some kind of dominatrix hooker, I was off.

Got to school, and life had reached the definition of awesome. I think there were more costumes than last year, and even better, now that I'm a semi-Otaku, I realized that a lot of costumes were cosplays, and many of them were fantastic. :D Here Darth Vader, there Dante, on the escalator a male and female Robin (boy wonder), in the C wing a V with a bunch of dudes is Guy Fox masks (IT'S A SCIENTOLOGY PROTEST!). I was very amused by the guy who looked like Daniel Radcliffe being Harry Potter and Carl the British magician/musician as a French Canadian. XD

In my first class the other costumes there (unless I missed one), was a Tales of cosplay and this guy Adam in an AWESOME Joker. As in NOT store-bought shit, great make-up, and he actually made the scars by his mouth! AWESOME, and I am most dissapointed that I didn't get a pic.

During my break I headed to the club spaces, and there was much awesomeness. I repeatedly got to Falcon Pawnch Chris in the chest, for he was Kelly (...the "dude" who sings the Shoes song) and had stuffed his shirt to an unholy degree. This short girl had a terrific Link going on, and this guy stayed totally in character ALL DAY as Skull Kid with the nice Majora's Mask. Watching them fight (and then make up) was epic! Then we saw a Snake passing buy and were all "OMFG, WE NEED TO DO A SMASH BRAWL GROUP," and he said he was looking for a cardboard box and would brb.
...yeah, he never came back. :(

I had printed out a reference picture of white and pink Captain Falcon the night before to walk around with so people would know who I was, and BOY did it help. Quite a few people in clubs said they'd thought I was Speed Racer. HAHANOFAILDIENOW. But when people realized what I was, I was told a fair few times that I was very awesome. ^^

The entire Sci-Fi Club was dressed as Team Fortress 2 characters. I have never played a TF game, and it was so bad that I asked the doctor dude if he was Dr. Horrible (which made me so excited for two seconds), but hey, I know awesome when I see it! Also Cameron makes really insane/great props. I MUST ENLIST HIS HELP.

Then I had to go give my presentation on soap operas in Popular Aesthetics class, which was at 11:30, and I only found out a few days before that oh hai, costume contest is actually at 12, not 1! Plus the teacher found it imperative to show us some Maralyn Manrow film first, so I was just rushing to get our thing done fast. ...In the end, I spent more time talking than both my partners combined, though I think I managed to make the three Grey's Anatomy clips really relate to the topic. Fucking frustrating trying to show the last scene of the last episode of the first season, though. :S

So right when I finish at 12:30 I pack my stuff and zip to the main lower atrium where the costume contest was being held. FALCON RUN like my life depended on it, you know.

People were still entering at that point, so I asked one of the TF2 guys I recognized vaguely to watch my bag as I got in line. It was great XD there was just this isle in the middle of a huge crowd of students, and I walked down it shouting "SHOW ME YA MOVES! SHOW ME YA MOVES!" and "FALCOOOOOOON PAAAAAAAAWWNCH!"

Got into the Top 10, TF2 guy gave me back my bag since their group was also in the finals, so I quickly shoved it in my locker. We had to go down the catwalk thing again, but I thought "shit, I just used up all my moves ._. at this rate if I get into Top 5 I'll just be stale" so just demanded that people showed me their moves again and shouted "FALCON KICK!" The judges, apparently all teachers, were not satisfied with my moves. It was also bs that TF2 didn't make it; fucking teachers just don't know what cosplays are. At least Skull Kid and the three Ninja Turtles and April stayed in.

The winner?

Two probably-Jewish guys dressed up as fucking ketchup and mustard.

KETCHUP AND MUSTARD. GOD, HOW FUCKING ORIGINAL. THEIR COSTUMES WERE EVEN FUCKING STORE-BOUGHT, AND LOOKED CHEAP AS HELL, LIKE FUCKING TEN BUCKS A POP. WHAT THE FLYING FUCK.

I wonder how they decided who got to keep the iPod Nano. >_>

...well anyway, spent the rest of my break doing randomness. Lots of time in the club spaces, went to "Chilloween" which was pretty lame (too dark with horribly loud music), where I also went to get some Gatorade and somehow, with my mighty FALCON FISTS crushed the cup and spilled juice on my pretty pink gloves - YUM. Didn't help that any velcro also ruined the fabric on contact, which sucks cuz my bag has a flap that closes with velcro and the pocket I kept my camera in was also velcro. And they're NICE gloves. ;; Boots were also started to hurt at this point, and later in the day it got to the point where any bit of standing/walking would kill me. :x Guess I didn't break them in enough.

Went to Conrod's, forgot to go in the Haunted Hospital (no idea if it was lame or not, but I like to think there was a Joker-nurse cosplayer in there :D). Friend from English class helped me answer a random question to get free candy (really, how'm I supposed to know that Bill Clinton's from Arkensaw?), and went to Excetera's table and got myself a free candy apple since I was crossdressing. (It's Monday and I still haven't eaten it. :x)

Then there was this awesome Princess Daisy cosplayer! She said she just put the costume together that morning, which was wtf! She was trying to find her friend, the Link, and we waited and looked and waited, and I was so excited because hey, MORE BRAWL COSPLAYERS! There was also a Luigi in my Pop Aesthetics class, but I never had a chance to speak with him, which sucks because we could have had a Brawl photoshoot for free in the atrium after the costume contest. XP In the end, all I got was a pic of me Falcon Pawnching Daisy, with her looking rather weirded out. XD Sucks we never saw the other three.

English class was boring, and nothing interesting happened. :/

Ended at 4:00, had 4 hours until I was meeting my friends for the comedy show. Was completely unaware that none of them would be waiting with me in school. So I hung out with my friend My-Linh, who was dressed as a guy (even though she kinda does that ordinarily XD), and she made me sing Wonderwall and it was like doing the Time Warp AGAIN. (Haha I'm so witty.) I took some pics of her (which came out really well) and she took some pics of me (since I had none), though they weren't very good, and then I saw what I looked like for the first time and realized that holy shit, this helmet looks absolutely horrible with my costume. Seriously, I look more like some flamboyant biker than an F-Zero racer! XD

When My-Linh had left I went to the mall, got a souvlaki sandwhich thingy and was impressed that I didn't dribble anything onto my white-white clothing because I'm such a messy eater. XD

Anyway, 8:00 finally rolled around and eventually it was Sam, Jana, Ryan, Geordie, Eric Magill and gay Zack (the last two who I haven't seen in AGES! :D) in the comedy club, and they played Thriller and it was great. XD The place was pretty empty, which is weird since it's always been full when we've gone before. Then a waitress spilled Zack's beer, got it all over the floor, on someone's jacket, drenching Ryan, and only after the show did Sam and I see that it had gotten her skirt and my bag (also leaking through and getting my books, but thankfully not affecting any of my costume, which I had taken off beforehand).

Anyway, it was great. One of Sam and my favourite comedians was one of the warm-ups, and he was, as always, great. XD One of the waitresses had said to him "Don't take this the wrong way, but you look like Riff-Raff," causing Sam and I to burst out laughing when he recalled this, because he kind of DOES. XD Good stuff.

Afterwards we went to McDonald's, then Sam went to Jana's place for a sleepover, Zack went his own way and the rest of us bussed home. Called my dad to ask for a lift from the bus stop due to EXTREME FOOT PAIN, but he said no. So when I saw a black car driving up beside me as I wakled in my socks, I assumed I was being stalked or something until I ran up the steps of a random house and my dad shouted my name, Good times.

The plan was to meet at my house for 2 to get ready for the 8:30 showing of the Rocky Horror Picture Show on Saturday. Sam and Jana were running late, so it was changed to 2:30, and even then it was only the three girls and Eric, and we'd be meeting gay Zack and some of Sam's friends there.

Eric arrived at the new time, we lay newspaper over the kitchen table, and the girls arrived some time later. We fell into the same trap as we had the other two years, spending way too much time goofing around rather than actually getting ready. With the family out shopping, we listened to songs on Sam and Eric's phones, then I brought down my iPod speakers and we just chilled and half played around with makeup.

5:00 suddenly arrived, so we rushed to get ready since we wanted to be at the theatre super early to get a booth. Jana and I were dressed more or less like sluts, Eric was some kind of...uh, he wore red heels and black and white striped ankle-socks and a blond wig, and Sam was...yeah. Anyway, we jumped in the car and drove over, and needed Jana to help me parallel park the car because I'm that pathetic. She doesn't even HAVE a liscence. XD It was fucking freezing outside.

Got to the theatre two hours in advance, only to find out that oh joy, they weren't opening until 8! So we went into a Greek café next door and ordered some fries, just to keep us from getting kicked out. The waitress looked very pissed, so when Sam's friend Margo arrived, we also got nachos, which were VERY yummy.

I reazlied that a line was forming outside, so we ("we" being "me with the money mom gave me") quickly paid the bill and went into the freezing cold, all huddling up. Zack found us and we all huddled for warmth before finally being let in. We were some of the first in (yay for Sam's plan of com,ing early!) and got AMAZING seats in the front booth on the left, and just got to chill for awhile, taking pictures and stuff. There was much passing around of masks and Eric's wig, and our three Rocky virgins, Jana, Margo and Zack, got labelled. :3

Costume contest was great. Felt bad for "Tina Turbulance" because his costume was awesome, but all the entrants got totally outshone by the Borat who literally stripped onstage to reveal the neon bathing suit thing from the movie. XD Incidentally, one of his prizes was a pair of underwear, which he put on onstage. Plastic Patrick fangirl forever. <3

Then the show began, and...dear Chuck Norris, the awesomeness. Of course you had people acting out the movie onstage as the thing played, and some of the actors were really great. XD This time Rocky was actually a guy and Frank was a girl (which was odd since it's usually the reserve). Her hair was really hot, though, and was the first hint that it wasn't a guy. XD

Anyway, it was just...great in the end. Just great. XD We threw the rice and the toilet paper and sprayed our water guns and put on party hats and it was just wonderful. The virgins enjoyed it, especially Jana who got quite the bit of attention from her gigantic heels which made her insanely tall.

Great success! ^.^
