Something told me to compile a list of the applications I use on a daily basis. Here it is.
Applications I frequently use.
Web design
MacTidy/BBTidy
MacTidy is a stand-alone version of Dave Raggatt's HTML cleaner app with a nice GIU. BBTidy is the same in a BBEdit plugin.
BBEdit Lite
The Be-All and End-All of text editors, or at least a pared-down version thereof.
PageSpinner
An HTML editor that lacks BBedit's power but, being designed for HTML, can be much more convienant at times.
Transmit
A FTP program with a beautiful and intuitive interface. It also has a syncronize command, that will only upload files in a folder (or site) that have changed since the last upload. This is handy if all your HTML files have been edited, but the MP3s you have intermingled in the same folder (don't ask why) have not.
Personal use
iCab
Despite the fact that its CSS support is lacking to the point where I sometimes have to turn CSS off to view some sites, this is the best browser I have ever used. (I must admit, however, I am looking forward to getting a computer that can run
Safari)
Eudora
People send me email. I send them email. Spam filters. While far from the Do-Everything approach that Outlook takes (if I kept up with newsgroups I would have to get a seperate reader) Eudora excels at what it does, and has a nice (and incredibly customizable) interface to boot.
Phoenix
This blog entry was posted with it. 'Nuff said.
There are, of course, other programs that I am quite attatched to (
iTunes, for example) but only use on a semi-regular basis, so they aren't listed here.
Jennifer has a doctor's appointment later this week, so we can get an actual yes/no answer to whether she is pregnant. My money is on yes, and it is a bet she doesn't care to take me up on. While either will be fine, I would rather that she is. I want someone to love, teach, pass on the little nuggets of wisdom I have stumbled on over the years. I want a child.
