My impending sense of "I suck" is slowly fading, thank you. I think we can safely say I'm still broken a bit, but... I have school to worry about now. I have classes to pass and a show to help put on and grandparents that I need to look good for. So I'm going to get dressed, get my butt up from the bed

It's always so hard to deal with "not winning." I didn't say "losing," I said "not winning." I don't know the situation, but the truth of it is that the standards people use to judge others, especially in academics, are extremely arbitrary. You almost always have to be good to win, but the type of good at the variance and all sorts of stuff are dependent upon the whims of whoever makes the rules or judges the applicants. Think of it this way: you lacked some specific arbitrary factor with little real meaning that they just so happened to be looking for

No, don't get me wrong... to always be "best" would just be... not... right. I don't know how to say it. :P
