Before I announce the news that this post will really be about, I've realized I have some explaining to do.
As a good many of you who've stuck around my journal for a bit know that I write. I'm a literary artist, and it's my emphasis at the art school I attend. Many of you may also be aware that I wrote a play last year, Reboot, that got performed first in staged readings, and later for a full-out performance with set and blocking and sound cues and everything.
What you may not be aware of is that I wrote another play this year.
And that the staged readings occur tomorrow and Friday.
Yeah. I've just... totally forgotten to update about anything of that sort. Though I seem to recall a far ways back mentioning that Lee was trying to poke me into writing a play with my vampires. And in fact, I did. And more. Quite truthfully, I consider the play a collab piece with
carriepika, based off of roleplay events with my vampires, Carson and Lee, and her raverboy Muse, Kokueimai.
I should also mention that I'm very excited about this whole thing going down. They plays are being read by middle schoolers this year, but I've come to find that... really... they're so much more enthusiastic than the high school students were. They're excited and so full of energy and really ready to do their best to make it like the playwright wanted it... it's amazing. I have awesome actors all over again.(A-and dude... Seamus, who plays Carson? Is a Sonic fan. ^0^ ) <3<3<3
Mind, this play is no Reboot. It's not a comedy, which was strange for me to write but... also fun. Really, very fun. And it's amazing how much everyone's taken to the characters. I've only heard wonderful things about Koku, Lee and Carson. And Cypress totally came up to me one day at a rehearsal and just smiled excitedly and said "You made a yaoi fangirl very happy." And really... god... they're having so much fun. They're loving the characters, the story... how could I ask for anything more? I adore the characters. I love Koku as much as I do my own Muses. And if other people can love the characters like that? Maybe not with the same understanding, but still love them for the amazing characters they are...? God... it's amazing. I'm beyond blissful.
Which brings me to the point of this post; Knowing Carson is to be the third play performed tomorrow night.
...yup. That's all this was about.
And I've been updating too much. o_o; XD
