So I wrote something about expecting good news but I had to wait as my facebook status and Ted thought I was pregnant. HAHAH no. That wouldn't be good news at THIS point in my life.
But I DOOOOO have good news now because I got the confirmation from my boss-woman.
ASSOCIATED TOOK ME AS FULL TIME!!!!! YAY!!!!
Not only full-time but they transferred me to the Southtowne Branch which is about ten times bigger than Water St. This is the sort of bank where they routinely get 30k CASH deposits. Like, big deal bank that's one of the best in the city of the nine.
I was on pins and needles all week because of it too. I had been 'bothering' Jackie, my current boss, about really wanting full-time. She understood and asked our DM for a full-time spot at Water St. (which would have been ideal) but he said they couldn't pull it through HR. Then a few people transferred at ST so I thought 'YAY I could be FT' but then HR only approved two partimers. I was a little crushed.
UNTIL
Apparently behind the scenes my Sup Holly was bugging our DM like mad about making a FT position at Southtowne with me in mind. My company is so awesome that the DM then went ABOVE HR to an Exec VP to get the OK for a FT position. While he was driving me to Copps during an emergency yesterday he then told me that he got the approval from the VP and will give me that position and a girl at ST will come to Water St. in my place. Not only that but he said he's going to cross-train me as a personal banker for some things and get me going on learning the daily operations stuff so he can help move me up in the company. DIRECT QUOTE from my DM!!! Holy goodness!!!!
So today Jackie called me to tell me that she worked things out with Karl, my new manager, that I'm going to start Oct 6th so we can finish out the rest of the quarter. As much as I'm excited I'm also a little sad - the Water St. branch is super kooky and fun, and some of my coworkers at OMax don't suck. But really, Associated takes GOOD care of its full-timers. I get a little over three WEEKS of paid time off, a day or two of sick time per month, and my insurance cuts down from 125 a paycheck to SIXTY. Needless to say, I'm excited.
YAAAAAY.
