2009 is drawing to a close. In fact, there are 2 more days. 48 more hours...and a new decade begins.
2009 began beautifully for me because in February I got to travel to St. Lucia for my long awaited honeymoon. Paradise for 10 days is the best way to start a year.
Most of the year was uneventful. The routine of work, home, sleep, work, home, sleep has made the year go by faster than I'd like. I need to have more exclamantion marks in the coming years.
June 7th saw my first year anniversary, which was celebrated by wearing my wedding dress again before it was dry cleaned and tucked away in its box (forever?).
September brought me to the Toronto Film Festival which I found exciting and fun. I love travelling to Toronto.
October saw me turn 32...:(
The beginning of December was celebrated by going to Vancouver for a week to celebrate early holidays with the husband's family. They started this trend so that the family could have Christmas with their other families. It seems to work beautifully. Vancouver is another place I love visiting. There's such a different culture out there and the views are so exciting and recharging.
Unfortunately, a good colleague at work lost his partner on Dec 23 and I've been pre-occupied with thoughts of him since then. She had been sick but it was all very sudden and surprising how fast she went. It is not a good way to end or begin a year.
2010 should be spent creating more vivid memories and events of my life. As I get older I realize I have a limited time here and it's freaking me out. And I have to create the best life for the rest of the time I am here...and hopefully I won't start that too late. The hard part might be trying to figure out what that best life is for me, without comparing it to anyone else's or worrying that it's not enough.
Good luck to me :)
I wish anyone reading this a great 2010!
