Happy Birthday to Percy! Have a fic!
Happy Birthday to Percy Weasley! In honor of his day I am actually FINALLY posting what I have written so far of the Percy/Hermione fic that is a companion to The Substitute. This universe is decidedly AU, does not take HBP into account (I gave up on the idea of going back to try to make the first fic--and therefore subsequent fics--fall into line with HBP) and both The Substitute and Modified Memory have a different "tone" from my other writing. This is actually not beta-read yet, although I've picked over it repeatedly, so I hope readers won't find that it's full of errors. (If you do find something, let me know, although I will be having my beta-readers and Britpickers attack this very soon.) You may or may not choose to read the other fic first; that may help put some things here into context, although I hope in the end that all of the fics in this universe (I've been writing more) can be read in any order, so you don't HAVE to read anything before reading this; you'll just get a few more surprises if you read this one first. As with The Substitute, the chapters are all rather short and what is written so far (still a WIP) shouldn't take long to read.
