today i shadowed med school students at nova southeastern university which is a DO (doctor of osteopathic medicine) program and i was so impressed with the school...with everything there..the best thing was the students i met...everyone was so friendly and welcoming..and genuinely seemed to be happy there...you know when you visit schools and everybody's too busy to smile, give directions, or even look your way?...well it was strange...noone was like that...if you asked for directions to a room or a building, people volunteered to walk you there...lol..almost like you would find in the service staff of a hotel...they all had wonderful things to say about the faculty... and the health professions building(s) are beautiful...the lecture halls, the labs, the "examination rooms" AND they have "harvey", this plastic dude who can be programmed to show realistic cardiovascular systems and diseases (he was created at UM, but few schools have him)...i liked it there and could picture myself fitting in easily...it was really motivational being there...i feel so close to the finish line...but i know there's a lot of work and sweat to still get through...my last mcat full length practice exam i went up 6 points, and in all three areas of the exam...im at the average score for acceptance at nova...i just got to keep climbing and stay focused..e has been wonderful...supportive, encouraging, not letting me get self-defeating and keeping me on task...i'm incredibly blessed to have a husband who embraces my goals and visions like they are his own...blah, blah...stay well...
