So today I went to school and the usual happened. I went to lunch 4th period and the dudes said as usual "lets get outta here" so we left and were on the train and the plan was the same as usual. People put down money to get weed and everyone just wanted to hang out. The train stops at 116th and out of nowhere 4 of my friends pounce on this white dude and snatch his iPod. The dude tried to fight back and they jumped him. Wrecked his shit. And they got away with it. They didn't get caught, and the other dude never got his iPod back. I stood there watching the whole thing. The facial expressions of the persecutors and the persecuted.
The looks of the passengers. The laughter. The tears. The Rage. Jotting it all down in my head. After we get on the next train and the events already over, the 4 of my friends Matthew, Dave, Anthony, and some dude named Will (associate actually, not friend, one of Dave's friends) are talking about it. Laughing. Bragging. Telling the rest of our group that did not partake in the acts about it. Dave and Anthony and the rest of us are Juniors at school. Matthews just a freshman. And Will's just some dude who doesn't even go to our school. I say to Matthew "Are you proud of yourself? Does it make you feel tough? You tryin' to prove something?" and he just looks down. At least he recognized his guilt. And I say to the 4 "What goes around, comes around, watch your backs" and they just laughed and said "man, everybody gets robbed! I've been robbed before."
And I say "Alright, I understand. I'm not trying to put you guys down but I'm just telling yall to watch your backs because karma's a bitch" and they didn't really pay attention to me. We go to my house and everybody smoked weed, hung out, etc.
Some other friends were there and everything was all good. And I'd stop to think that after they smoke some weed they'd stop talking about what they did and they would stop bragging about it but they didn't. They bragged and bragged about their "gangsta-ness" and what a fight they put up. Little did they know Pride Comes Before A Fall. They leave my house at 3, and later on at like 9 I get a message. Apparently the minute they left my building and walked, two blocks later, 13 dudes pounced on them and jumped them. Did Dave, Anthony, and Will protect the little Freshman Matthew? Nah. They did as I expected. They ran and ditched him. Little Matthew got smacked in the face and all that shit. And Matthew tells me all this online. Wow, Karma usually kicks in a week more, maybe a month after you do something. Looks like karma ran out of patience today. And karma is nothing religious. Its just the natural order of things. What you send out, returns. You throw a stick over a dog, the stick will return with the dog. But hey, At least Matthew learned his lesson early.
