This is for scott, it's a letter to the management of our building, but if anyone else has any editing options, or is aware of something about our building and has suggestins in that way, then go ahead and respond.
To Whom It May Concern:
I am a resident in your Lindell Towers West building. Upon hearing the recent news of removing a desk worker during business hours, I became frustrated, but I intended to accept it, despite the inconvenience it causes. However, due to certain discoveries since the removal, I have realized that it is more than a simple inconvenience to the tenants of this building, yet I will first focus on that part.
Before, if I had mail to send out, or my rent payment to turn in, I simply stepped into the office, and put my mail in an outgoing mail tray, or turned my rent into the office worker. Now, when turning my rent in, I do not feel 100% secure in the fact that it will be turned in if I simply slide it through the slot. There is no face to place my money with. Therefore no one I can hold responsible if my payment is not received. This is not to say I do not trust the night staff here, because they have proven to be extremely wonderful people, but, I am simply stating that I feel more secure handing my check to a person. As for the mail, now I either must walk to a mailbox, or place my outgoing mail on top of the mailboxes in the mailroom. This second option again is one I do not trust, for just the same reason. These inconveniences are but two of many, however, they are the sort of problem I was going to accept. Unfortunately, they do not mark the end of my frustration.
Without having a worker in the office during business hours, the safety of this building is threatened. With no one in the office, there is no one to monitor the parking lot, the back door, or the front door. Though during daylight hours, these are not areas that can simply be overlooked for that whole time. I will venture to guess that in the Coronado office, the surveillance videos are in place for the parking lot, yet that is asking too much of an employee to monitor both the parking lot and garages, as well as take care of the business of three buildings, and the inquiries of each tenant and future tenant of the five or so buildings under your management. As far as the back door, the maintenance is generally in the vicinity, so that door is never in too much danger; however the front door encompasses the entire lobby. A specific example would be a time when I was returning to the building, and I noticed that one of the veranda doors had been left ajar. Had I not done anything about that, anyone could have entered this building, and done whatever they desired without surveillance. I for one am not willing to pay as much money as I do in large part for my convenience as a SLU student, and also for my safety if you are not willing to do your part to ensure both of those.
You may be able to shed better light on this subject for me, or perhaps you have simply overlooked these facts, but the fact remains that the management of these apartments is in need of some serious reconfiguring in my opinion. The removal of a desk worker during business hours is not the only problem faced here. We were promised in letters in October that come the end of the month of October, renovations were to have begun on the freight elevator. Perhaps they have, and they are just not visible, but at this point, I would like the work either to begin, or an update on the progress.
I am but one tenant in all of your buildings, and for that reason, you may very well refuse to hear me out, but is that not your purpose and goal? Should you not strive for the comfort of each tenant of each building, to provide the best services possible to everyone you are the landlord of? Or do you believe that your focus should remain on the wealthiest tenants? Do you believe you are better served to provide the best comfort for those that provide the most capital for you? I understand you are a business, and that money drives your decisions, but money is coming to you from multiple buildings, why focus entirely on the Coronado?
Sincerely,
Mike Krussel
