Thank you very much for your comments on our telephone town hall. As this was our first attempt at using this technology, we appreciate your suggestions.
To comment on some of the points you raise, we scheduled the hour-long call to run between 7 and 8 pm, and perhaps having it a bit later would be well-advised. However, as everyone has busy schedules, it would be unlikely to have a time that is convenient for everyone, so that is a consideration as well.
With regards to using an automated caller, we dialled approximately 20,000 numbers in 5-7 minutes. This would not be possible without using this method.
Alerting people in advance is something we are definitely considering, and we also have the option of providing a call-in number so that people who are not contacted directly can still phone in and participate.
We feel that the forum went very well, and constituents have generally responded quite favourably to Peter’s continued efforts to increase communication and dialogue. However, we always welcome comments and suggestions for improvement, and your feedback is duly noted.
