Seriously, Miss Val, things like this magical bit of wonderful mayhem are exactly why I adore and covet your brain, you have no idea. Okay, first of all I just loved your set in general because I'm forever enamored of your coloring and sharpening process. It just clicks for me, visually, in all the right ways. This is a constant.
I want to spot light one in particular though, and that would be 07. I cannot even begin to explain how beautiful I find that icon. It is so perfect, moody, and brilliant. There's that fractured, disjointed feeling to it, but there's also a weird sort of symmetry as well. I love the coloring; the pinks and purples are just lovely, and I think the light in opposite corners is so pretty also. And your screencap choice is superb here because it looks as though he is looking at her through the looking glass.
I just have so many feelings about this icon (and the whole set in general). And to see the actual story behind it? You are ridiculously creative! I love the plot line so much. I'm reading a book currently that deals, in a drastically different way, this sort of dream world that you can only reach sometimes and you always crave it, and your story seems to imply that same sort of feeling; in that way, I think your actual icons convey that sort of sense perfectly. There's all these half remembered story lines that make up a puzzle where so many pieces are missing, and it is fabulous.
I really could go on. I want this to be a mini series that exists on my television screen right now, to be honest. It is so intriguing and original and dark.
I'm also loving the cover for the soundtrack. So gorgeous. I'm going to download and have a listen to the tracks as well. If they are anything as delightfully mad as your brilliant story & icons, I'm sure I'll love them!
