Apologies to j_is_for_jihad, as we drove up at the last minute to Chattanooga this weekend. We had been mulling it over for a couple of weeks, but then I got that Pseudo-Flu thing that has been going around and it got all iffy. Then S almost got it right afterwards but she decided to starve it which is apparently the key - so if your stomach starts cramping or ( Read more... )

"Imagine It!" is the proper name, which sadly is a pretty literal description of its benefits.

This is the laugh I've been needing. Thank you.

I came this (.) close to calling you this evening, but because of the dang time difference plus the time change I decided not to. My email responses to people go from "Hey..." to full blown vomit-rage in about two lines, although really things are shifting into place. We played our new Hubcap City (from Belgium) CD the other night thanks to your previous "must take notes" post. At first I was thinking "this isn't how I imagined it..." but I really liked it, then my Suth'n guy said "I don't want to sound pretentious, but if I didn't know this group was from Atlanta, I'd say this group must be from Atlanta because they have that sound I associate so much with Atlanta." How many times can I type "Atlanta"? It is actually a fun word to type. Atlanta. Atlanta. Atlanta.

I have to go through the dusty shelves and double check what Super Roots are missing from our collection. That has been on my "things to do" list for a spell.

I'm going to respond to...oh, emails and stuff someday. Thanks for the compliments on that project thing. I want to tell you more (of course), so I'll either call or email soon. Chattanooga sounds so exotic to those of us in Seattle. You may as well be writing about Ankara.

I can only write quickly, but...

As awkward as I am on the phone, you can always feel free to call me. I'm just grateful to hear it, since I always get that level of paranoia when sending something off to someone and think "Oh wait, I might have written something horribly offensive" and even as much as we've both discussed those impulses they never really die away...

I'm glad to hear that the Hubcap City CD was received well. To be truthful it doesn't sound a lot like the 7" that had more of that R Crumb feel so I hope I didn't lead you off base with that. But nonetheless they still carry "that feel". Its like you're going through the south part of the city through an old neighborhood that has been plowed through so many times that you can't even date it, and way off on the front porch of one of them are some weird old types who are making something that must be music but you can't really tell for sure. Its a lie to make it sound like there's more than one group that sounds like this in the city so far be it from me to say there's an undocumented scene of this stuff, but all the same its Hubcap City's town, I only live in the sub-suburbs of it...

Oh, and I wrote my review before I read the liners, just so you know I didn't steal anything. And if fishmael thought the same thing, it only reinforces the point...

okay, over my allotment of time for now...
