in the spirit of the season, its time to destroy another glossy-eyed portrait of humanity--you know the walk that they make in before sunset (aka the best movie of 2004) throughout paris, starting at the bookstore and moving on to the cafe, then to the garden/park area and finally on the boat ride on the seine? all done in real time, no less? well ( Read more... )

first off, i'm sorry i didn't respond to the evite! like i said, i was off for the better part of last week & i found out about all of it after the fact--i guess i'm just destined to never make it to any of your swank gatherings! damn!!

yeah, we'll still try to cobble together as much of that walk as we can from the movie, but its a shame that it can't be done exactly in the same way--there goes my chances of having an afternoon tea break in julie delpy's apartment--damn again!!

and yeah, we did watch the extras which was a good thing--my main bitching about the movie (other than the prime minister apparently flying commercial & li'l nadia's break through the airport security which would have shut down gatwick and therefore ensued countless people's ruined christmases--oh, and the parents of the girl who decided to pick the night that their daughter has the lead in the musical to return to the states) was that a lot of stories seemed like they were going to lead somewhere but then there wasn't even an attempt at a resolution--the stories that were sure to provide happy endings were allowed to finish, and the ones that were more complex were pushed out of the way--maybe if it had been 3 and a half hours i wouldn't complain about it--not that i'm moping about it or anything, it was one of those strictly entertainment movies for me and i guess i was strictly entertained...
