Nocturnal Reverie
Last night I had a dream. In my dream I actually felt the happiness that I so often reach for but always find it just out of my grasp. I think I actually felt its warmth instead of just knowing that it was there. For a brief instant I even forgot that this was the land of Nod and thought it was my own reality. Like all dreams, it had to come to an end.
I awoke with the noise of my fan whirling overhead and the AC unit kicking on outside my window. I didn't want to open my eyes because they still had the fading reminants of my illusion. I laid there motionless, trying to keep that warmth.
