It's GOT to be the shoes.
A few things this morning, and of course, first things first:

Other things:
1. I had a meeting this morning at work; the CEO has decided to bring in consultants, which makes me laugh because they've done that three times in the last ten years and never once made ANY of the changes recommended. SO ANYWAY. One of my cash peeps and I met with a consultant, and Victoria (our manager) just told us on Thursday that she didn't have any idea what they'd ask, but that we should be "professional."
Professional, to me, means I have to make an effort to look like one. So today I put on a new pair of black pants and a new shirt, and I brought black trouser socks along with me to put on when I got here. Did that, then used the eyeliner and mascara and lip liner and chapstick I keep in my bag, then finished by slipping into my favorite pair of heels, which I keep here under my desk.
And it never matters which of these various elements I use in any given day - if any, that is - but few ever say anything about how I look until I walk around in those shoes. They must do something amazing for me, because several people have said, "WOW! You look GREAT today!" Never happens unless I have heels on.
Looking like a million bucks for less than fifty = WIN.
2. Speaking of new pants and shirt - I love it when there are big clearance deals! My pants were only $9.00, and I got a couple shirts as well. And we went to the Old Navy outlet on Saturday, where I found another two shirts for under $5.00 total. SCORE!
3. It was a lovely weekend - gorgeous weather, not a lot of pressing errands. Too bad it ended so soon, I could've used a few more days like that.
4. My brother-in-law and his wife are celebrating their wedding anniversary today - seven years, maybe eight, so good on them. ;)
5. Kidling has Math MCAs this week, reading was last week; it'll be interesting to see how he does.
6. I have makeup on today AND IT IS DRIVING ME UP THE WALL TO KEEP MY FINGERS OUT OF MY EYES. Just sayin'.
7. I think I'm going to put Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium on the iPod this afternoon while I work. It just feels like that kind of day. :)
