1. Yesterday we went to tour the apartment place we're hoping for and we put in our application. Crossing fingers, chanting, voodoo, prayers, small animal sacrifices - whatever you believe in, please do it for us. There are lots of reasons it would be a good place for us, and I just really really hope we're approved.
2. When we finished that, we fetched a couple of Papa Murphy's pizzas and went to visit
loveweasleys04 and her beautiful family for the evening. We had so much fun introducing them to our lovely Nintendo Wii and GTA 4 on the XBox 360.
3. They got their own Wii today...and are blaming us. XDXDXD.
4. I have a crap-load of great pics, mostly of Mikey and Elaina, and managed to pare it down to five that I like the best. Now, Elaina is gorgeous and just the cutest thing, and takes a while to ease into people she doesn't know, like many children do. But watching her start to relax with us was as awesome to me as being there and being able to talk to people my own age. And Mikey - you guys, this is the kind of big brother he totally wants to be - check out the size of this kid's heart:
This is when she first crawled into his lap; they were watching whichever video game we were on. My eyes just popped wide and I fumbled for my camera, in case it didn't last long. But it did!
Told them both to smile, this is what I got:
Playing with trucks:
Getting tickled:
And then this one...this is absolutely my favorite of the bunch. I think I might get a print made, it just kills me:
5. Bottom line, we had such a lovely night.
6. Today was brilliantly cold and equally as bright out. So we took Mikey to the biggest hill I think we've got around here, which is HUGE. And we put him on his board and sent him down. Five times. He's never really been hard-core sledding like this, and Matt and I could do nothing but stand at the top of the hill and laugh hysterically. Especially on Mikey's second trip down. He went cross-legged on his bum, hanging on to the handles for dear life. He hits this big ramp of snow and goes flying off the board, rolling over and over down the hill while yelling and shrieking, and then we heard laughing in the middle of it. When he finally rolls to a stop, he gets up and - picture that PepsiMax commercial - goes, "I'm good!" We lost it. I was laughing so hard I was crying, and it was so cold that my tears were turning to slush in my eyelashes. SO. FUNNY. We have video, but I don't know if Matt'll get it up or not. If he does, I'll post it. Till then, here, have a pic of Mike after his last run, once we got him out of his coat and hat:
I LOVE his hair! XD.
7. All in all, a really nice weekend - I wish it could've been longer. ;)
