To every adult bad-mouthing today's generation
You know what really pisses me off?
When older people on the internet bad mouth teens because they think today's generation is spoiled. Sure, today's generation has a lot of new technology and fancy phones and iPods and stuff, but, hell, people, you were their age too!
Back then, when YOU were a teenager, you thought YOU had the fanciest technology. YOU thought the world revolved around you. YOU felt like the world hated you.
We were all teenagers once, and just because today's generation has fancier technology does not mean you can bash their attitudes.
True, some things are uncalled for, like backtalking, sassing, and refusing to do what their parents tell them to do.
BUT.
Adolescence is a hard time. Don't make me take you back to Health Class. The teen years are the years where, HELLO, PUBERTY hits! Hormones make attitudes soar higher than a freaking plane!
We ALL backtalked our parents. We ALL sassed them. We ALL stormed out of the room.
And we were ALL teenagers.
Plus, today's schoolwork IS a lot harder than back then. Sure, today's teens have fancy calculators, but the math is more complicated. The science is more complicated. The history is more boring. And the expections are WAY higher.
So, next time you feel the need to make a comment anywhere that today's teens are spoiled brats, remember that YOU were in their place, too.
