Why do you like Psych?

I have a question for you all: Why do you like Psych?
Is it the zany humour? The fun detective aspect? Or is it something to do with personal experience?

I will use myself as an example.

I have a friend who is pretty much Gus in a girl form. The way she acts and the way she does things are just like him. Compared to her, I'm Shawn Spencer in girl form

The humor. And I love the characters. There's not one that gets on my nerves (unlike in Monk, but let's not go there). It's different, and I really love it. Plus, those messages sent to my cell are cool :)

I have TracPhone. It's a prepaid thing. It costs me 0.3 units to send messages but 0.0 to read them.

I like Psych because the show is so funny! I love the character interactions between Gus and Shawn and also Shawn and Lassiter. It's not your average detective show and I like it because it's different.

I love the way that Shawn solves mysteries mostly by focusing on details and I also love how he fakes to be a psychic. It's really funny and fascinating and just awesome. It's like a mix of Scrubs and Veronica Mars, or at least reminds me of both of them, and both of them were two of my favorite current shows.

The only connection I see in the show is Shawn and Gus to JD and Turk from Scrubs and sometimes Veronica and Wallace. Other than that, personally I feel like I'd be most like gus and it's just... nice to think that I had a best friend once who was like Shawn. I have issues. Haha.

I like anyone who makes others look like idiots. I love how Shawn can make people actually believe he is a psychic just but coming to a conclusion about something he actually sees on them. Another thing I like about the show is that I usually figure out what the out come is going to be before the end of the episode, it make me feel smart and such, finally a show where I know what is going on (one of my major fandoms is Lost, you can see why I like knowing what is going on). Plus, one of my friends told me I was a mesh of Shawn and Gus.

I saw the first commercial for Psych and I was hooked. I adored Dule Hill on West Wing and was excited to see him in a new show that looked amazing. Then I watched the first episode and fell in love with Shawn and Gus. They are a great team and James and Dule bring that sense of long term friendship to life. Then there is the father/son relationship between Henry and Shawn that I'm enjoying as well. As a daughter of an awesome single mom, I'm a sucker for a good father/son story. The entire show is fun and charming.

Another personal connection hit me last night when Shawn and Gus did their "We solved the case" dance/bounce. I tend to be hyper when I get excited about something. (Yes, bouncing, lol) But I also tend to try to act proper most of the time, like Gus. I think I connect with Shawn and Gus' joy for life.
