Quick update
I've been meaning to update my actual journal for a while now, but that takes a lot of time and it's more convenient on my computer anyway. This is more for my own benefit since I'm not actually sure that anyone I know still updates on even a semi-regular basis.
Roommate situation:
-Candace is moving out as of June 1st, 2009 and at that time Brian will be moving in. Sami and I have a paper chain counting down the days.
-Sami and Ryan broke up. Even though I feel badly for her and how much I know she's hurting, I'm very grateful to have her around more.
-We recently decided that we are not going to change our decorations according to the season for a while- right now we have Christmas, Valentines, and Easter stuff up.
School:
-I have an exam that's worth 50% of my grade in Clinical psych on Tuesday, and I'm not ready for it. I don't even know how to begin preparing for a test that has that much weight- I'd memorize the textbook if I had the time.
-Lab is going well. I've successfully taken over the Personality, Emotion, and Reactivity (PEaR) project from our lab coordinator who moved to Australia. The only thing I foresee having serious trouble with in the future is data analysis with the program 'R', which is command line entry.
-I hate my Mark Twain seminar, but at least it satisfies my "upper-division-honors-outside-my-major" requirement and requires minimal effort.
-I'm amused Monday and Wednesday mornings by people who could care less trying to learn how to read music in my piano class, but otherwise frustrated with the structure and pace of the course.
-Cognition, Computation, and the Brain is by far my most interesting and enjoyable class and that, in conjunction with how much I enjoyed intro to cognitive psych, leads me to lean toward Cognitive Psych or Cognitive Neuro-science for grad school.
Activities:
-Our last pepband game was today
-I got matched with a new little sister through BBBS and I should get to meet her within the next two weeks!
-I was going to join Kappa Kappa Psy, but decided I was too busy and dropped out of our initial education course
-Marchingband leadership auditions are in three weeks and I still have a lot of work to do on the piccolo
Anything and everything:
-I'm attempting to pass my driver's test on March 13th
-Spring break is only 10 class days away
-I've become addicted to hot chocolate and chai tea lattes
-I've been going home every weekend and each time I feel more of my sanity slipping
-The people I work with and the inefficiency of everything about the office frustrates me more all the time
