“The Santa Barbarian Candidate” is in reference to “The Manchurian Candidate” (1959), by Richard Condon, is a political thriller novel about the son of a prominent US political family who is brainwashed into being an unwitting assassin for a Communist conspiracy. The novel has been adapted twice into a feature film by the same title, in 1962 and again in 2004.
Sebastian Spence (Channing) - Sebastian Spence (born December 9, 1969) is a Canadian actor. He played the lead role of Cade Foster in the Space Channel science fiction television series, First Wave (1998-2001).
Neil Grayston (Straub) - Neil Gordon Grayston (born March 24, 1981 in New Westminster, British Columbia) is a Canadian actor.
