[BtC] Trowa and Kevin - Flying

Kev: *tries to sit quietly while you double check my seatbelt and safety harness* Thank you.

Tro: *smiles* My pleasure. *does my last checks on you and me, then hands you a headset so you'll be able to listen in and talk to me.* *shows you how to put the circuit to us only and how to put it to ATC and us* *shows you the checklist and what I'm running down, before acquiring permission to taxi to the runway, where we join the queue of other light craft*

Kev: *listens carefully to all the instructions, nodding as I do* *tests the headset* *shifts in my seat, feeling nervous and excited*

Tro: *smiles* *gets permission to take off* *concentrates on making this as smooth as possible* *feels the ground drop away as we curve upwards * *concentrates on gaining some altitude* *waits till we get to just under the height of the few clouds around, wanting to keep this a visual flight only. *watches you watch the ground* *points out a few of the landmarks.*

Kev: *looks out the window as the ground falls away beneath us* Everything is so small. *awed voice*

Tro: *nods* up here its just us and the birds. No traffic, no worries. A good place to think

Kev: *sits back, watching your face* *noticing how the worries and tension seem to melt away*

Tro: *relaxes* *smiles* Check the bag behind you. *knows there's a picnic lunch there. *

Kev: We won't get sick if we eat? *turns in my seat and pulls the bag up onto my lap*

Tro: You don't get car or boat sick do you? You should be safe enough. There aren't any milk products or anything with milk, they're mostly the culprits.

Kev: No, I never have that I know of. *holds the bag but makes no effort to open it* *alternates between watching you and looking out the window*

Tro: *Smiles* then you'll be fine. *takes us over London* Want to see if you can spot the house?

Kev: *scoots forward a little for a better view* *looks around and points* *turns to you with a big smile* I see it!

Tro: *grins* very good! Want to go and see Aunt Ruth's place?

Kev: *eager* Yes, please!

Tro: *changes course* *lets ATC know where we're headed* *to you* Better eat something, you haven't had anything since breakfast.

Kev: *nods distracted by the view*

Tro: *grins and checks for other planes*

Kev: *takes out a container of strawberries* *eats them slowly, distracted by what I see around me*

Tro: *reaches over and steals one* *munches on it as I fly*

Kev: *Smiles* *takes another out of the container and feeds it to you*

Tro: *takes it happily* *then lets you have the rest* *when you've had the rest* Want to do some acrobatics?

Kev: *wipes my hands on my jeans feeling nervous* Okay

Tro: *smiles at you* Its perfectly safe. Safer than a fair ground, but if you don't' want to I won't.

Kev: I want to.

Tro: *grins* Hold on* Takes the plane and puts it into a gently swooping dive, sending it up and down and into turns at a reasonably leisurely pace. *

Kev: *feels the bottom fall out of my stomach and swallows hard* *opens myself up more and feel the joy you get from piloting*

Tro: *looks you over, seriously* Still okay?

Kev: *nods* My stomach felt funny for a minute, but it is better now.

Tro: *wicked grin* Want to do a couple of loops?

Kev: *nods eagerly* *zips up the food bag and secures it behind me* Yes, please,

Tro: *grins manically* Hold on *pulls the plane into a steep curve, then into a half loop, half roll so we corkscrew a few times* *waits until i figure you can't tell up from down to stabilize the plane. *

Kev: *feels my stomach drop out again and loses sense of up and down. *can hear my heart pounding in my ears and the blood racing through me* *so many things rushing through my head; fear, excitement, freedom, joy, trust* *swallows hard getting my stomach out of my throat when I feel the plane start to stabilize* *looks at you with big eyes* WOW!

Tro: *quietly* and that is why flying is better than the funfair.

Kev: *eyes still huge and feeling the adrenaline buzz* Oh, yes! That was...*tries to find the right word* Can we do it again?

Tro: Lets gain a bit of height again, and then we can. *thinks I've managed exhilaration well today* We can do it another couple of times before we have to head back.

Kev: Okay. *leans back in my chair, excitement building as we climb*

Tro: *takes the plane up and throws it into another corkscrew*

Kev: *hangs on tightly grins widely*

Tro: *figures I have another addict* See what Cat and I mean with danger sometimes being a thrill?

Kev: It doesn't feel dangerous with you flying.

Tro: Good! *eyes you for a moment* *points at a few pieces of equipment.* I need you to remember a few things for me, okay? that * points* is the transponder. that *points again* is the radio. If there's ever a problem with this or any other plane, set the radio to 121.5. That's worldwide, the emergency frequency. The transponder you only ever use if we're being hijacked and you set it to 7500. Most hijackers know this and let you do that as it signals ATC to give you priority and get the right authorities involved. Use the emergency frequency for any, and I do mean any emergency. Even if you're not sure it is. Better to be safe than sorry.

Kev: *nods, serious as I make note of the names and numbers* Okay.

Tro: *nods at the controls in front of you, fully aware you have the copilot seat with a dual set of controls* Take the controls. They control your up and down movement. The center of gravity of the plane is in the center, so you're moving the tail up and down. You have yaw, pitch and roll. Roll is exactly what the name implies, the turn of one wing or the other up or down. Pitch is turning the tail up and down. You controls both of those with the half steering wheel in front of you. The pedals at your feet control the left to right movement of the plane without changing either the angle of the wings or the tail. *presses one and we turn a 160 while staying at the same altitude* See what I mean? Want to give it a try? *knows this is technically illegal as I don't' have an instructors license but that I can take control soon enough if anything happens*

Kev: *wipes my hands on my jeans and then puts my hands on the wheel* *puts my feet on the pedals but does not press either of them*

Tro: *puts one finger on the steering wheel* *moves it left and right a bit to show you you need a very light touch* try just left and right. Compensate when you're halfway through the turn by turning the plane back a bit.

Kev: *tries to duplicate what you did and the plane jerks roughly* *looks at you slightly panicked* Trowa...

Tro: *smiles and sends you reassurance* Gently...like a feather's touch. *knows you know what that feels like*

Kev: *tries again with a much lighter touch* *smiles as the plane responds much smoother* *looks at you quickly and then away for approval*

Tro: *smiles* *lets you feel my joy* Just like that! Go on and try to fly for a bit. Just keep her steady and going forward.

Kev: *beams happily at the joy I feel from you* *forces myself to relax a little and lighten my touch even more* *watches intently out of the window and then down at the gauges* I'm flying. *louder and with more confidence* I'm flying.

Tro: *grins at you* Yes you are. All by yourself too. *takes my hands off the wheel and lifts my feet demonstratively*

Kev: *paths Cat and tells him* *focuses very carefully, trying to watch everything*

Tro: *keeps a hawks eye on all the dials, but isn't interfering without a reason*

Kev: *hits some turbulence and gets scared* Tro, please.

Tro: *has my hands on the wheel already* *soothingly* just some hot air coming up Kev, nothing to worry about. Want to do anther looping before we head back?

Kev: *sits back feeling relieved and thrilled* Yes, please.

Tro: *grins* Hold on! *intends to make this a triple looping to finish it off*

Kev: *holds on* *feels the adrenaline buzzing through my veins and the disorientation as you take us through the maneuver.

Tro: *can feel what you're feeling* *quietly* [and that is exhilarating]

Kev: Oh. *looks at you, eyes shinning* I like it very much!

Tro: *quietly* its why some people call Cat and me adrenaline junkies. *smirks* *reaches over and caresses you softly* the other is because that much adrenaline needs an outlet. *amends* well, mostly.

Kev: *projects desire* Like making love?

Tro: *looks at you for a moment* *nods slowly* Only if you want to.

Kev: *smiles at you, not quite seductively but with a hint of promise* *colors lightly and nods my head*

Tro: *turns my attention back to the plane* *requests permission to land* *waits for it*
Of course, the only reason to fly is for fun if you can teleport

Kev: Some things should be done for fun. *pause* For the joy of doing them. That is something you and Cat have taught me

Tro: *nods **smiles* So what do you want to do?

Kev: Go home and let Cat help us with the outlet for our adrenaline.

Tro: *gets permission to land* Soon love, soon. Unless you want to go ahead? *starts descending*

Kev: No. I think we should go home together.

Tro: *smiles at you* *quietly* thank you.

Kev: *wraps myself around you and Cat telepathically* *paths to him as well as saying it aloud* I love you and Cat, Tro.

Tro: *caresses both of you softly but concentrates on landing the plane* [I love both of you]

Cat: *smiles, putting my book down, feeling you both contented and happy together * *softly, reaching out to caress both of you * [I love you both, too.]
