It would be a more psychohistorical analysis if you looked at the rate of heavily abused children, or even advanced, helping mode children, in the 'dropout' percentage, instead of just making a vague 'generational' comment, that was certainly a point from much older people who approve of regularly beating children. In several US states, children are still beaten at high school - so they might be dropping out because of the abusive atmosphere, the lack of freedom, tired of the power-venting teachers and the heavily biased lectures they are given.
