In an article on the Annual Dinner of the legislature 's Black and Puerto Rican Caucus, they talk about a speech that was given by former president Bill Clinton. The speech was supposed to be mostly about his wife running for candidacy but did not turn out that way. The article goes on to say that many people had high expectations for his speech and many were not happy with the way it turned out. The only time he even said Hillary's name was in the beginning when he said "I know why I'm here. I'm the stand-in for Hillary ... a reasonably acceptable stand in." After that his speech had nothing to do with his wife at all
I think that he didn't talk about Hillary because he does not really support her running for president. He might have started rambling about why the democrats got the majority of votes and other topics, to leave his wife out on purpose so that he didn't have to say that he backed her if he didn't. Also when he makes the comment "I'm the only guy here who can't do anything for anybody," he was subcosiously discrediting himself. Making it seem like his opinion really didn't mean much.
