You wouldn't think of Global warming as a very controversial subject. But it is, many people refuse to except that it's happening even though we there are many signs that it is, you don't even have to be a scientist to see it! An example of this is that here in New York we have been having warmer winters, while places are having freak blizzards. We haven't had a white christmas in a few years, yet I remember always having snow on the ground in December in the past. This year our first real snow wasn't until late January. Even when you go further upstate, where there used to be feet upon feet of snow, you can tell that the amount have snow has gone down.
Which the effects of global warming so apparant it is hard to see how some people can deny the fact that global warming is happening. Whenever I am talking about how mild our winters are becoming, I always make a quip about global warming. Most of the time people just agree with me or just ignore it, but sometimes I get arguments out of it, which is always interesting. Once I said it to a friend I was visiting in Boston and he got very defensive. He said that it couldn't be global warming. When I asked him why he said that the weather hadn't changed enough to say that it was global warming. Even though just before we were talking about how Boston hadn't even had a good snow yet, even though it was the end of January. It just shows that some people are still in denial about it.
