the man is going to usf. on his own. no rotc. double edged sword that is. on one hand, no cushy amounts of money. on the other hand, no commitment to the navy. usf has offered me $12,900, tuition + room and board is $9,990, which leaves me with $2,910 to cover books, personal expenses, and transportation. + whatever other scholarships i get. probably some from the community foundation, one from Pals, then of course summer job(actually, that'll all go to paying off my mother...) what gives me comfort though (and sorry to anyone who doesn't have the same faith as me, or doesn't enjoy reading ramblings about faith) is that i have a guide in life, and whatever happens, happens for a reason. in the grand scheme of things, i know i will have a great life. say congrats ppl, not sorry.
of course i still hope to join the navy maybe, the idea of traveling and being an officer is still a wonderful idea that i know i would love to do. NUPOC is a program, like ROTC, but i get into it 30 months prior to graduation(at earliest), and basically im signed up as an officer, paid as an officer (~$2,000/month), but with no rotc classes or anything. just officer school after graduation and of course 8 yrs, 4 active. not to bad a deal...especially with the $10,000 sign on bonus...but we'll see. unfortunately as many of you know, jen is going to uf and i to usf. it will be different, i grant that, but we've settled on it, and after the year is over, one of us is going to the other school. lol, which, we will see. can't really truly tell which is better until we see each with each other during and throughout school. we'll only be 2 hours away, unfortunate, but workable. on college time nonetheless. what matters is that i love her and she loves me, and our lives will take the course that they are meant to take. i believe that course is for us to live together forever, and i hope and dream that that will continue to come true, and of course i will do everything in my power to accomplish that. i love you jen, i know you know this. im so glad that u are with me and that u love me. I LOVE YOU.
