"So take me to the airport, I need to be extremely far away,"

That is, I'm sitting in Logan, waiting for my flight out to see elipie and household, and I'm more than a little bouncing-up-and-down impatient.

I took a bus to get here, and they were showing a movie on that bus, and that movie was New In Town, and at first I thought I would watch it, right? Because I sincerely believe that a romantic comedy now and then is good for the soul. By ten minutes in, though, I was pretty sure it was going to be one of those movies where the bitchy, ice cold, highly professional woman is won over and into showing a softer side by small town life and a small town guy.

I didn't watch any further, so please tell me if I misjudged the movie. That is how it looked to me, though, and it just made me really sad--centuries of work for gender equality, but when we look for some harmless entertainment and we're still finding updated version after updated version of Taming Of A Shrew, something is still pretty deeply wrong, isn't it? Not to mention all the other, more tangible things, I know, really, but that's specifically what I had in my head today, you know?

So many other things going on in my fannish life right now: Ryan Ross has a bandmate! They're making a miniseries of Good Omens! Spiderman is coming out soon! EMPIRES!

One things that is not going on in my fannish life: Avengers. I haven't seen it yet, I plan to, I've avoided spoilers, but as of now it hasn't happened yet. Don't tell me anything! *plugs ears*

Anyway, what are you all up to? Anybody out there?

ryan ross is his own fandom now, movie, rambling
