Emipres, Z Berg, and the dangerous charm of One Direction
Okay, so here are some things:
I may or may not be getting a little sucked in to One Direction. I blame elipie. And likeaglass. But, seriously, have you seen their faces?
They are kind of adorable. I haven't really succumbed yet, but I'm coming to terms with the fact that it's only a matter of time.
Also, Jjamz's new video! It is wonderful! If you haven't seen it, you really ought to. This gif comes from it:
and if that doesn't make you want to see it, well, maybe I am the wrong person to be convincing you. I was sort of hoping that they would be changing their name, if they were going to be a real band, but alas, it seems that that is not to be. Oh well. They've given us two songs that are extremely stick-in-my-head-able and a really excellent video. More than that might be overkill.
I did bandom bff fest! I can't tell you which is mine yet, that's still locked, but the one written for me was really spectacular, I've read it more than once and intend to do so again, I can't recommend it enough. It's called In The Immortal Words of LMFAO (Party Rock Anthem) and the bffs involved are Ryland and Alex from Cobra, and you know how much I love them.
I went to see Empires! Twice! And I should have written up concert recaps at the time, because now I don't want to, but I guess I'll just say that they were amazing onstage and adorable and earnest off of it, the new album is coming out in July, and the t-shirt I bought there was so soft it is now my new favorite.
Oh, also: I asked Sean, when he was at the merch table, what the deal was with the jackalope picture on the ep cover and he looked all baffled and said he had no idea, I'd have to ask Tom, Tom picked it out. Also also: I am extremely fond of Max Steger. Yes, still. It was suggested, at the second show, that I should ask him to sign my boobs, that probably no one had asked him that yet. I decided, though, that it would probably freak him out, which would be counterproductive to wanting to see him play in the future, maybe. So, yes. Empires. Still fantastic.
...I guess that's all? That was a pretty band-fandom heavy post, wasn't it? Sometime in the next few days I'll get it together to make a things-that-are-actually-going-on-in-my-life post. But for now, anyone want to chat about these things?
