concert mini-reaction (EMPIRESx2!!!!)
THINGS I LOVE ABOUT SEEING EMPIRES LIVE:
1. Sean's test-the-mic song--has anyone recorded that? Because I kind of want it.
2. Max's hair flippage, and the probably related way he loses his glasses two songs into the show.
3. THE NEW SONGS. "Hitchhiker" is awesome.
4. The way Tom looked like he was about to fall asleep just before the show started.
5. Ryan's rhythm section flirtation with the bassist--Julio, I think?
6. The fact that probablyJulio was wearing no shoes and argyle socks on stage the second night.
7. The guy who came up to us after the first show to ask for 'a woman's perspective,' for an explanation of SVV's sex-appeal onstage, because it made him uncomfortable.
8. Sean seemed REALLY happy we were dancing, he came over to sing to us often enough that, in tiny rooms like these, I got almost bashful enough to stop dancing. Almost. You know how I get. (It occurs to me that I might be an embarrassing person to go to concerts with that way *shrugs*)
9. The way the whole band gets so into it--they don't just play some songs, they rock the fuck out--they spoil me for other bands, seriously.
