So a lot of this is repeated from my personal journal... I haven't been officially diagnosed and plan to call a dermatologist tomorrow morning

Sorry to hear about your newest outbreak ~ but great to hear how dedicated you are to breastfeeding! How old is your child? I've been breastfeeding straight now for just under 8 yrs ~ my littlest one is 3 1/2 now and who knows when we'll be ready to stop. My P surfaced during my third trimester of my first pregnancy ~ not fun.
Anyway, I do hope your derm has an UVB booth that you can use ~ for me that was the best way to clear up my P without ingesting pharm drugs. Since my daughter is an older nursling, I use a low dose clobetasol ointment on the occasional spot(s).
Have you heard of Dr. Thomas Hale? He researches drugs in breastfeeding moms ~ almost all of the biologics out there to treat P do not pass into breastmilk due to the molecular structure of the meds are too big. Yet, most Pharm Companies that put out these meds do not want BFing moms to use them so my derm won't go there. *ugh*
Diet has never really affected my out breaks ~ yet it's great that you know what to take out of your diet to make you feel better. As for homeopathic remedies, I like the gels/creams made by Boericke & Tafel ~ I use them for my P, PA, and many other aches/complaints I have!
Good luck and I hope that you find something to ease your outbreak so you can get back to enjoying life . . .
Mikah is 14 months old now. I can't imagine breastfeeding for almost 8 years.. or just having a house with more than 1 child. How do you do it?! I do plan to let Mikah self wean though... I think he's already a quarter of the way there. We mostly just BF at night to help him sleep.
Anyway thanks for the names- especially Dr. Thomas Hale. It's really helpful :) I don't think I have thrush but I'm pretty sure BF'ing is not helping my outbreak. In general I just feel like I have a new body post-pregnancy and i'm just now getting used to it.
